The conundrum is that the Sabbath was never intended to be a day of worship. Sabbath means "rest", not worship. The system of worship established by the LORD consisted of sacrifices of varying sorts offered initially at the tabernacle in the wilderness and subsequently at the temple in Jerusalem. Worship was conducted six days every week with the seventh day set aside for rest.I disagree. There are no arguments from Scripture , nor in line with Scripture, about ever changing what is written in Scripture - indeed, God Gives Eternal Permanent very strong warnings, permanent warnings, against changing Scripture and about training or teaching little ones to disobey God's Word.
If one wishes to follow the Old Testament commandments regarding worship then one would be obligated to worship Sunday through Friday, resting from the work every Saturday. Worship was not rest, especially for the Levites and priests. Slaughtering animals and roasting them is work. In the context of the tabernacle/temple it was the work of worship.
Those who insist on making the Sabbath a day of worship completely miss the mark. The Sabbath is a day of complete rest, pure and simple.
