Well, some of us may well have relatives or a loved ones that listen to people like this, and don’t listen to us, and at least quietly think that we are messed up in the way that this guy describes. I suppose we kind of have to know what they’re saying about us, even though yeah, it’s pretty idiotic.

He spent a segment on faith and works comparing Ephesians 2:8-9 to James 2:24-26. He went further into James 2:12-26 showing James to be on the same page with Paul in faith & works. Ok, on that point but why did he just not include Ephesians 2:10 as what we would know is living witness of salvation by grace? Why not go further from Ephesians 2:8-9 per Ephesians 2:8-18 and educate his faithful in that Paul is railing against boasting & works of the flesh ( primarily circumcision)? Why not also educate his faithful in that we are to keep the Lord’s commandments ( this involves works) & also see 1 Corinthians 7:19.
It’s been a long day & gotta get back to moving boxes around at the warehouse tomorrow morning. I have nothing against this guy & wonder why we stress him so bad?

bad arguments strengthen good arguments. I like when my parishioners bring up folks like this because it just shows the Truth of Orthodoxy. there’s been guys like this long before my conversion, so I say meh.

I like to think of catechumens as those who have committed to Orthodoxy and are in the process of learning how to rightly glorify before their baptism.

Speaking of which, due to a miscommunication with a priest who spoke mainly Arabic, O had an extremely short catechumenate, so as a result I had to catch up after having been received, but it worked out alright.
I loved that priest by the way and he recently reposed, Fr. Shara. May his memory be eternal!

I would suggest mentioning the username and providing a transcript, if the video has one, which you can copy and paste.
You could also put in a non functional URL with instructions on how to fix it, for example, put a space between youtube.com/ and the part that follows the forward slash. In that manner, it wouldn’t leave a link to it on the open Internet that Google could crawl or display it embedded on the forum, which YouTube can also track (Alphabet owns both Google and YouTube and the two have a unified login system).
Also if anything in the video might constitute hate speech you could report it to YouTube on that basis.

if a single video discourages someone, they are not curious or serious.
but even then, what’s the solution? telling people who would find a dumb video to be dumb doesn’t actually do anything.
