• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I wanna end with Christianity.

I take a pill for thyroid. And i drink coffee three times. And now i eat less by anxiety. Less vegetable ,less fruit .
Well, this is not very complete. You will need to carefully think about everything and plan it for the whole day. Stop drinking coffee, teas, energy drinks, whatever. Drink only water.

Eat only few basic things, have a lot of protein (meat), though. No sugar, not even sugary fruit like apples. Carbohydrates only 50g a day max and from the most neutral sources, like rice, only. You do not need to be in ketosis all the time, but it helps, so stay close to it. However, it may rise your cortisol levels, so add some rice if you will feel nervous, eating meat only.

Eat a log of eggs. At least 4 a day, ideally 5 or more. You may experiment with some clean fermented dairy without any additives (without sugar etc.) like plain sheep/goat yogurt.

Go to sleep every day in the same time, including weekends. 2 hours before sleep - no tv/computer/phone screens, no artificial light, wear glasses blocking blue light before sleep. You may read a book before sleep, if it helps you.

Eat in the exact same time very day, the same things every day. Stop eating at least 4 hours before sleep.

And find a community (local church), if you do not have a family and live alone, have a pet (a cat, a dog). Hike to nature, be in the direct sunlight at least for 20 minutes a day, but have a lot of light during the whole day, do not sit somewhere in darkness.

Exercise "snacks" - do not sit for long, for example every hour go do something for 5 minutes.

Try intermittent fasting.

Buy a high quality D3/K2 supplement, very important! The right levels of D3 are a game changer. Magnesium bisglycinate also helps.

Etc, etc. Find what helps you and stick to it. It may look like a lot of changes in the beginning, but you need it and you will get used to it.

Yes, it is scary. I had serious panic attacks few years back, combined with OCD and various anxieties, even significant depression. I healed by doing what I wrote you in the previous post.

To the OP:

I'm really sorry to hear of your struggles. I felt I would reply because I have felt a similiar way too at times. I think its important to identify what real Christianity is and what purports to be christian teaching but is not. By all means make a break with the latter. Anyone reducing all your difficulties to demons needing to be cast out, is wrong. Now some people may have problems in that area because they opened themselves up to it through drugs, or through the occult, but difficulties can be related to other things too: pressures and stresses of modern living, pressures from other christians also.

You said you take less vegitables and fruit, may I ask was your diet overbalanced towards fruit and veg? You just need to eat the right sort of fruit and vegitables and have a balanced diet with a bit of variety. Some fruit may take the edge off your anxiety, but I wouldn't expect an great deal just from change of diet. However it might help a bit.

TV News can also be a source of anxiety, cut down on that if you watch a lot of it. You won't be anymore out of touch than most people.
You can follow stuff at times when you feel you can handle it.

I'll say too you don't have to be a mother, or have children, or even get married if you don't wish to. How you feel about all that now might change in the future however.

God Bless.
