One of the most surprising effects of the cascade of changes that played out in the wake of dinosaur extinction may have been the evolution of a world absolutely teeming with fruit. And with all that fruit, came a lot of fruit eaters.

Leave it to PBS to promote evolution. No wonder we need to defund it. Sorry, I couldn't stop my sarcasm.

I love PBS and also the program NOVA which recently had an episode similar to this about how the Cretaceous (K) and Paleogene (Pg) extinction event made room for mammals.

The K-Pg asteroid impact that led to the extinction of the dinosaurs occurred at the Chicxulub crater, located on the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico. Specifically, the center of the crater is offshore near the community of Chicxulub. This impact is widely accepted as the cause of the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event.

An interesting link, but found this:

First Fruits

The above link pushes back fruiting plants to the early Jurassic. That's about 185 million years before the end of the Cretaceous. That raises the question of if you had fruiting plants in the Jurassic but flowering plants appearing in the Cretaceous, what exactly was going on. Darwin called the sudden appearance of flowering plants an "abominable mystery."

Note that while there were great big dinosaurs tearing their way through forests, there were also small dinosaurs that could have distributed seeds quite handily.

It's a pretty story, one tied to the appearance of angiosperms and the end of the age of dinosaurs, but like the Walking with Dinosaurs reboot, sort of "Meh."

Should all forums be discontinued that promote untruth ? There might be no forum then ?

I enjoyed some of the shows provided by PBS. NOVA was one of my old favorites. Their nature shows were on every Sunday afternoon and evening. I wish they had stuck with the nature shows, kid shows, educational shows, cooking shows, and the like. They should have never roamed into politics. Regardless of which side they sided with, it was doomed from that point on.

I have this theory. Between 6000 - 6500 years ago, The Word (Yeshua Hamashicach) Spoke everything into existence. Just over 4000 years ago Yahweh flooded the earth saving 2 of every KIND of animal (Not every single breed or species of that kind), as well as Noah, his 3 sons and there wives. There i proven adaptation to environmental inputs of a short periods. THERE IS ZERO PROOF of evolution.

This is getting to a purely political topic, but using a taxpayer's money to fund a group opposed to his interests is like the old European situation where state-sponsored churches used government money at the expense of other denominations. If public broadcasting's true believers are willing to fund it, so be. That's the usually way of things. Public broadcasting can air what it pleases, but not on my dime.

Doesn't have anything to to due with a "Meh" video about fruiting plants, though.
