That would only result in Israel funding the war against itself since Hamas sells the food/aid to raise money to buy weapons and ammo.
Weird fantasy.

International aid organizations have tonnes of food they can let through. Israel just has to guarantee free and safe passage.

Hamas' food wouldn't be valuable anymore.

They want them to die. The leadership even tries to dehumanized them...explicitly saying that is their desire.

It's pretty clearly genocide. Enough experts in genocide who know what they're talking about have suggested it is so.

All of this to say Israel could also turn on water; or are the brain dead among us supposed to say that hamas will steal that too?

Or they could turn on the power. Or just not treat or think of them as animals.

.....says the person quoting the AJC.

Pfffft.

Read other sources if you honestly think anything I say is unfounded.
Says the person believing the Gaza Health ministry information ran by Hamas.

They would be selling to themselves then. Not a great way to finance anything.
They are selling to the starving Gazans. Not a good way to take care of their people.

Prior to Oct. 7, Israel did supply Palestine with water and electricity, since Hamas refused to spend the money to provide it for them. They still provide water to them, but not sure if they still supply electricity.

I'm saying that if we believe the given, hairbrainned rationale for Israel's actions,
You have a very strange idea about what happened on October 7 and has been happening for decades.
a very easy solution that has rhr added bonus of being the empathetic, humanitarian response that most of rhe adanced world has been calling for.
Easy? With Hamas its easy? You have no idea who you are dealing with do you. Much like most of the advanced world, who hasnt had to deal with them.
It's the underlying premise of capitalism. More supply with no change in demand will bring down prices.
You think Hamas care a wit for capitalism?
Sure we can sit and use our fanciful imaginations of paranoia of how hamas would find a way to make this awful.
I dont think we needed anything remotely associated with imagination. We have many years of actual history to fall back on to let us know how awful they make things.
Prove how it wouldn't drive down food prices if Israel began allowing the full flow of food into Gaza.
Becauae Hamas would steal it, that they've already shown to do, and will kill people relying to get it.

It means everything since it's a reminder for you of when Israel started to block aid and food from coming into Gaza. That's the point you don't seem to grasp. Israel is the primary cause of the current situation. And whether you want to believe it or not, Israel has been using hunger as a weapon.

Some people are just blind to the power imbalances. A police action that has the effect of killing off the population still amounts to genocide, regardless of how you justify it.

Outside of the Jewish community, support for Zionism is only really popular with old white folk. When the boomer generation die out, younger generations will not follow in their footsteps.

Support for Zionism was an easy way to process collective guilt in a world that turned away millions of immigrants fleeing Europe. It was a reparation that seemed to cost nothing but a small slice of a fading colonial empire.

I actually believe the news stories reported by international 3rd parties who are witness to atrocities.

Nice try to "I know you are but what am I?"

Iswael is dealing with wascally Hamas now.
Yes. The problem is how they are dealing with them....the starving the children thing; the setting up their own distribution points (and dismantle tlingnun ones) and then hitting children and adults with sniper fire.

That was a circular response.

Sowy but I missed that.

Sorry couldn’t contain myself. Lol

The Gazans themselves have never really been the problem. Hamas on the other hand has been the problem since their inception in 1987. The last big row in 2008-2014 Hamas used the Gazans as shields to maximize IDF collateral damage and increase propaganda. You can find a paper on this below. Is a pdf so can’t cut and paste. The summary on the first page has the highlights.

It is baffling to me that Israeli supporters see 11 instances of the use of human shields by hamas and use that as ongoing justification to kill children and have the cahones to say hamas are barbaric.

How many armed attacks have the idf perpetrated against Palestinians and gazans? 10s of thousands. Some of those stories are just as if not more barbaric; there are certainly enough examples of war crimes.

And yet hamas is seen as brutish animals.

Gimme a break with this human shield thing.

Folks all now PRESUME that hamas are using human shields witb every attack. That is not true but some people are stupid and have no real ethical response to the idf and what they're doing so the only response is an antiquated reported that is beyond exceedingly rare or that ANYTHING that touches or comes from Muslims can't be trusted as honest.

Israel conjured up a report with 11 events and you guys Have clung to that as some kind of life raft in an ocean that is otherwise bereft of moral reasoning.

How is a statement of fact circular? I stated that Israel is dealing with Hamas now. Of course, you add your political drama for impact.

You chasing a straw man. I am not an Israel supporter. I detest terrorists organizations like Hamas. These terrorist organizations expose their civilians to the results of their failed terrorist actions and you drink the kool aid by supporting them.

Nah. Every time the IDF has responded militarily has been in response to a Hamas attack. And Hamas uses the Palestinian people as shields to maximize the casualty count and play the fake news card.
And yet hamas is seen as brutish animals.
Because they are.
Gimme a break with this human shield thing.
If you want to bury your head is the sand then do so at your own intellectual peril.

Folks that cant keep up with the arguments always devolve to ad Homs. Typical.

You obviously only read what agrees with you. You should expand your reading inventory to things that challenge your intellect.

Here is another report of Hamas using Palestinians for shields.

I think it's safe to say there have been a few bad actors on both sides of the conflict. Moreover, the weighted emotional freight that pushes against the peace process in Israel / Palestine / Gaza Strip has been in the making for over 120 years. This current manifestation of that same conflict is unfortunately freighted by its larger history. As much as we ALL would like to see this conflict and its attending suffering on both sides end, there's just so much more in the memory of both peoples caught in this, and for too long, that it just keeps spilling over on both sides.

With that said, I'm taking a sort of 'middle' view, with the same hope that the current episode of conflict in Gaza can resolve quickly and turn into a more humanitarian direction. All this 'moralized' mudslinging on both sides does nothing to solve the problem.
