We don’t quite have a monopoly on abusive clergy. The Southern Baptists learned that. But we do have a near monopoly on gay clergy and consequently gay clergy abusers. We didn’t really get things all the way sorted from back in the day of Peter Damian. It’s crazy bad now because instead of weeding these people out, following the established rules for seminaries, folks like ex-cardinal McCarrick were buggering seminarians and growing the problem. Those folks are in their prime in power in dioceses now.
Who’s Peter Damian?

Good to know, but do you think the RCC has more SSA clergy?
There have been several pastors in Protestant Churches… married too that have come out as gay. We’ve had a few here locally as well. I have no idea if the RCC has more SSA clergy than other branches of Christianity. It’s hard to compare because we operate differently than Protestant Churches do that have much that is never publicized. It one thing to have the attraction, quite another to be active in it. Sexual abuse regardless of sexual attraction, homosexual or not, married or not, is still sexual abuse. And the Church certainly does not have a monopoly on that from everything I have read.

Good. Thanks, that makes me feel better.

What about Former Cardinal Burke? Is he a good guy or a bad guy? He used to be assigned here as Archbishop.
He is still a cardinal. He is a good guy. He is most associated these days with the shrine in LaCross Wisconsin. Pope Francis 'demoted' him but did not remove his being a cardinal. Pope Leo has some sort of an 'understanding' with cardinal Burke, though we may never know exactly what.

Recently archbishop Cordeleone (should have been a cardinal in a just world) and cardinal Eijk have spoken highly of cardinal Burke. Pope Leo spoke rather inversely about cardinal Burke, blaming him for having contracted Covid because he wouldn't take the jab pope Francis was pushing.

Anyhow, cardinal Burke is a good guy, and has some balance, and is worth paying attention to. He is not some wild hare with sedevacantist loony tunes.

In a relative sense, I suppose. It is a sad thing that those entrusted with the Gospel can be so treacherous.

Scripture warns of such things.
Even gave us a prime example of it in Judas. I think we shouldn't be shocked. Angry yes, shocked no.
