BTW, the platypus doesn't have a duck's bill. The mouthparts are soft and sensitive, and not remotely like a beak in any way. Even the Northern Shoveler doesn't have a beak as wide and prominent as the mouthparts of a platypus.

Another interesting thing about the Platypus is that the males have venom in a spur by their hind feet. Very strange animal.
