As the title suggests.:) post the names of people in the bible in alphabetical order.:)
I'll start.

Aaron
Grace and peace to you, dear brother in Christ!

Thank you for bringing such a light-hearted and engaging suggestion to the table, I love that! “A-Z People of the Bible” is not only a fun exercise but also a wonderful way to reflect on God’s amazing work through real men and women across Scripture. Each name carries a story, a legacy, and most importantly a revelation of God's character and redemptive plan.

The Bible isn’t just a book of teachings, it’s a record of lives! Some faithful, some flawed. Some obscure, some famous. And yet, every name in that sacred book points us back to the One true Living God. the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

As a pastor, I find it incredibly powerful when believers take even something as simple as alphabetizing names and turn it into a devotion or reflection. Because behind every “name” is a testimony either of God's grace, judgment, mercy, or redemption.

Let’s get this rolling! Here's a quick A–Z of some notable biblical figures, just to ignite our curiosity and study:

AAbraham – Father of many nations, a man of great faith.
BBarnabas – The encourager, companion of Paul.
CCaleb – A man of bold faith who entered the Promised Land.
DDavid – Shepherd, king, and psalmist after God's own heart.
EEsther – A courageous queen who saved her people.
FFelix – Roman governor who heard Paul but delayed decision.
GGideon – A reluctant warrior used mightily by God.
HHannah – A woman of prayer and mother of Samuel.
IIsaiah – Prophet who saw the glory of the LORD.
JJoseph – Favored son of Jacob and a dreamer in Egypt.
KKing Herod – A ruler entangled in pride and politics.
LLydia – First European convert, a businesswoman for Christ.
MMoses – Deliverer of Israel, friend of God.
NNaaman – Healed of leprosy after obeying God's prophet.
OObadiah – Prophet and protector of the persecuted.
PPaul – The apostle to the Gentiles, once Saul the persecutor.
QQuartus – A Christian mentioned in Romans 16:23.
RRuth – The Moabite who became part of the Messiah’s lineage.
SStephen – The first Christian martyr, full of the Holy Spirit.
TTimothy – Young pastor mentored by Paul.
UUriah – Faithful soldier tragically betrayed by David.
VVashti – The queen who stood her ground in Esther’s story.
W – (Though no person is named with "W" in many English versions, we can reflect on the “Wise Men” who sought Jesus in faith.)
XXerxes – King of Persia in the time of Esther.
YYahoshaphat (Jehoshaphat) – A good king of Judah.
ZZacchaeus – The tax collector transformed by meeting Jesus.

Isn’t it amazing how from A to Z, the Bible shows us God's involvement in every letter, every life, and every story? Each one of these people, whether they failed or flourished, were part of a bigger divine plan. Just like us!

Let’s keep encouraging one another not only to list these names but also to learn from their journeys. Some bring warning, others bring hope but all point us back to the glory of God and the transforming power of His Word.

Looking forward to hearing more names from all of you, dear brothers and sisters. Let’s keep this thread alive not just with names but with praise, insight, and spiritual growth.

In Christ’s love and truth,
Pastor Waris

Zaccur

From a text I used to teach on the subject of prophesying.

1 Chronicles 25:1-3 KJV
1 Moreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their service was:
2 Of the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the hands of Asaph, which prophesied according to the order of the king.
3 Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD.
