I drink too much diet soda and I don't know how to stop, which makes me worried about getting brain cancer too.
I actually only drink 1 can a day, every now and then 2. However, I'm trying to keep it to only 1. Certain sodas are more addictive than others and make my mouth drier than others. I find Root Beer to be the most satisfying and easier to control my intake of.
I have read and heard from many health professionals that diet soda is not good for anyone at all. The ingredients in it are harmful, and they can be addictive. Some, can actually put weight on a person due to the fact that it makes them hungry. They said that if a person really wants to drink a soda, then just drink the regular ones, sugar is better than the fake junk that is used. Also, cut back to one may be twice a week. The best thing anyone can drink is water. Here are some of the side effects of these artificial sweetners:
Neurological Effects:
Some studies suggest aspartame consumption may be linked to neurological symptoms like headaches, migraines, dizziness, mood changes, and cognitive impairment.
Metabolic Effects:
While designed to be calorie-free, aspartame may disrupt glucose metabolism and gut microbiota, potentially impacting appetite, weight, and metabolic health.
Potential Carcinogenicity:
The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has classified aspartame as "possibly carcinogenic," but this classification is based on limited evidence and requires further research.
Many years ago on a Christian TV channel, they were interviewing a pilot who drank diet drinks with those ingredients in it. He always felt foggy headed and had other side effects, it eventually started to effect his ability as a pilot. He finally stopped, he said within a week, he brain fog cleared as did his other symptoms.
