I hope that we, as a nation, are learning something about ourselves with this toxic Trump addiction.

Another liberal voice, propagating the hoax.

Oathkeepers Founder Stewart Rhodes Sounds Alarm on Trump and Epstein

“It’s really disheartening to see President Trump just declare that to be a hoax. I don’t think it is. And I think it’s going to cause him trouble in his own base. It already is,” he said.

Rhodes argued the president is being influenced by the “deep state” into believing Epstein is a non-story.

“This is the deep state’s dirty laundry in the deep state’s greatest Achilles heel,” he said.

[Wait, that means people saying Epstein is a non-story are the REAL Deep State, and they've influenced the president.]

From the "Water is Wet" subfile within the Epstein files:

Trump was told he is in Epstein files, Wall Street Journal reports

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi told President Donald Trump in May that his name appeared in investigative files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday.

The newspaper reported that Bondi and her deputy told Trump at a White House meeting that his name, as well as those of "many other high-profile figures," appeared in the files.

The White House sent mixed signals following the story. It released an initial statement characterizing it as "fake news," but a White House official later told Reuters the administration was not denying that Trump's name appears in some files, noting that Trump was already included in a tranche of materials Bondi assembled in February for conservative influencers.

Deputy Attorney General [and former Trump personal lawyer] Todd Blanche will meet with Ghislaine Maxwell 'in the coming days,' Bondi says
Attorney General Pam Bondi said Monday that Deputy Attorney Todd Blanche will meet with Ghislaine Maxwell, the convicted associate of deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, sometime in the "coming days."

DOJ meeting with longtime Jeffrey Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell

The meeting between Deputy Attorney General [and former Trump personal lawyer] Todd Blanche and Maxwell is occurring in downtown Tallahassee at the U.S. attorney's office, which is located inside the federal courthouse, sources familiar with the matter said.

Maxwell's attorneys were also seen entering the federal courthouse in Tallahassee.

"We're looking forward to a productive day," David O. Markus, Maxwell's appellate lawyer, told ABC News.

[Productive? If Trump produces a pardon...]

Separately, on Wednesday, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer issued a subpoena for Maxwell for a deposition to occur at the prison on Aug. 11.

Trump Responds After Report on 50th Birthday Letter to Jeffrey Epstein

Trump ranted about the Journal on Truth Social, writing: "The Wall Street Journal, and Rupert Murdoch, personally, were warned directly by President Donald J. Trump that the supposed letter they printed by President Trump to Epstein was a FAKE and, if they print it, they will be sued. Mr. Murdoch stated that he would take care of it but, obviously, did not have the power to do so. The Editor of The Wall Street Journal, Emma Tucker, was told directly by Karoline Leavitt, and by President Trump, that the letter was a FAKE, but Emma Tucker didn't want to hear that. Instead, they are going with a false, malicious, and defamatory story anyway."
per @atrupar

Bradley Edwards, attorney for Epstein survivors, says on MSNBC that the executors of Epstein's estate are in possession of the birthday book containing Trump's letter and would be willing to turn it over to authorities

Well, this is awkward....

On Thursday, top Justice Department officials interviewed Ghislaine Maxwell, a longtime associate of Jeffrey Epstein’s.

But just days before, the same department asked the Supreme Court justices to reject her appeal seeking to overturn her conviction for assisting Mr. Epstein’s alleged crimes.

Prosecutors had previously argued in court that Ms. Maxwell had been dishonest in her accounts of her interactions with Mr. Epstein, and she has made it clear that she wants her freedom.

The president's former criminal defense attorney, Todd Blanche, is meeting with Maxwell for a second day. Curiously, her defense attorney was a partner of Blanche's former D.C. law firm.....

The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Friday is set to interview longtime Epstein associate and accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell for a second day. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche interviewed Maxwell for roughly five hours Thursday and said the DOJ “will share additional information about what we learned at the appropriate time.”

Maxwell’s attorney David Oscar Markus said his client answered every question during her Thursday interview with Blanche at a Tallahassee courthouse and expressed gratitude to the federal government for trying to “uncover the truth.”

It would be, if anyone involved possessed a sense of shame.

Yea, I'm still adjusting to the new reality....our DOJ no longer works for us.

This is not so much awkward as it is useful.

Maxwell has a penchant for lying under oath when it's beneficial to her.
Todd Blanche was formerly Trump's personal defense attorney.
Todd Blanche is not only Team Trump, but #2 at the DOJ.
It's useful for them to have a chat before she testifies to Congress.

Ghislaine Maxwell received limited immunity during meetings with deputy attorney general: Sources

We The People offer immunity to the flunkies so we can go after the big fish. Let's see if we go after any big fish.

The immunity allowed Maxwell to freely answer Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche's questions without fear that her responses could later be used against her, the sources said.

The so-called proffer immunity is commonly granted to individuals prosecutors are seeking to make cooperators in a criminal case. Maxwell has already been tried, convicted and sentenced for sex trafficking underage girls.

It is almost unheard of for a convicted sex trafficker to meet with such a high-ranking Justice Department official, especially one who used to be the president's top criminal defense attorney.

You don't say!

ABC News asked Maxwell's attorney whether that gave her an incentive to tell Blanche what he wanted to hear.

"No," Markus answered. "She wants to tell the truth."

Ow, my eyes!
