Well, many developed nations are like this and quite frankly there are probably a number of reasons. Of course the reasons do not change the reality that it is not good and will not work.

South Korea's population in 2025 is approximately 51.67 million.

In 1900, the area corresponding to present-day South Korea had an estimated population of about 9.7 million people.

No, I do not think South Korea is doomed. The current world population will be peaking in this century according to the UN and then will come down, mostly in the developed nations.

The issue is that the social systems will likely fall apart because there will not be young people to pay in as a tax base. While I support the idea that people should take care of their own and not rely on the goernment A there are some people who do not really have that and B even if everyone supported their own families with no welfare services there are stil certain things that the government provides such as defense and maintaining the roads that are not as much about famiies providing for families.

Every century has its social problems. And societies need to accommodate.
