Friends, how do you pray?

I type or write my prayers out.

Even the private ones that I only put in Notepad on my computer.

Writing or typing has always helped me focus and get away from distractions.

I also have a horrible memory for prayer requests, so writing it all down or typing it all out - request, prayer, update, prayer - helps me a lot.

I try to "pray according to God's Word", which is the idea of using Scripture to understand God's point of view on something, and acknowledge what He has already said on a matter.

I'm still not very good at praying though. It's hard for me to talk with God constantly like I'm supposed to do, the "pray without ceasing" type prayer. At least I've gotten myself back into a normal groove in focused prayer, rather than incoherent cries for help like all I could manage a couple years ago. But there is still a great deal of room for improvement, and seeing this thread has already suggested to me some ideas to help my brain.
