Correct. It's not her job to do anything except represent her district in the House of Representatives.

Weird how some think that a Rep could just go around ordering stuff in his/her district. AFAIK, they have no authority at home; they merely wield an aura of power.

Very strange expectations. By this logic any crime committed within any congressional district should be the fault of that elected representative for not… I don’t even know what. What are they supposed to do, call for a quorum?

I haven't seen anything in particular that would indicate that anything she did was the culprit for this situation.

The local police "higher ups" noted in the article that the strip has been a hotspot for that kind of activity for decades.

About the only common thread one "might" be able to grasp at is that she a supporter of the same "soft on crime" policies that allowed the strip to turn into that kind of mess to begin with, and that despite being meant to represent their jurisdiction in the federal government -- certain popular high profile "household name" legislators do carry a certain amount of influence on the state/local governments in their area. But even that would be stretching.

...but it doesn't look like the Fox News article was even that creative. They just went with the "it happened in her district, look, here's an unflattering photo of her" approach.

While I certainly have no love for the policies of AOC, this article appears to just be a hack hit piece. Must have been a slow day at Fox...
