This was a major cut to Medicaid. I don't think taxpayers should be forced to pay for Planned Parenthood.
Absolutely, I agree that the abortionists should NOT be receiving taxpayers money.

And considering the SNAP and Medicaid cuts, you probably will be even more upset at unplanned parenthood.

A democrat judge blocked the President. What a surprise.
Yes, that’s what we democrats and a majority of Americans voted for when we elected our democratic president.

Oh, does this excuse not work for the left?

One judge doesn't really have the authority to override Congressional law.

Welfare mothers are one of the biggest drains on SNAP and Medicaid. I was raised by a single unemployed parent on welfare. And after I turned 18 and left home, she went to work for my brother-in-law's company. Which indicated to me that she was able to work and earn a living during my childhood but chose not to. I remember she really hated Reagan when he was the Governor, probably because of being on welfare.

I hate Planned Parenthood with every fiber of my being.

Evil, evil organization.

I think it should be shutdown permanently, and NO TAX DOLLARS should EVER go to it!

Speaking as a proudly pro-life person.

What unplanned parenthood? Don't want to be pregnant? Don't have sex. Simple.

And yes, I believe SNAP and Medicaid are very important, speaking as someone who used to rely on them.

If it were as simple as you say, we wouldn't have 25% of babies born in the country to single women.

Promotion of Chastity
22. We take this opportunity to address those who are engaged in education and all those whose right and duty it is to provide for the common good of human society. We would call their attention to the need to create an atmosphere favorable to the growth of chastity so that true liberty may prevail over license and the norms of the moral law may be fully safeguarded.
Everything therefore in the modern means of social communication which arouses men's baser passions and encourages low moral standards, as well as every obscenity in the written word and every form of indecency on the stage and screen, should be condemned publicly and unanimously by all those who have at heart the advance of civilization and the safeguarding of the outstanding values of the human spirit. It is quite absurd to defend this kind of depravity in the name of art or culture (25) or by pleading the liberty which may be allowed in this field by the public authorities.
Appeal to Public Authorities
23. And now We wish to speak to rulers of nations. To you most of all is committed the responsibility of safeguarding the common good. You can contribute so much to the preservation of morals. We beg of you, never allow the morals of your peoples to be undermined. The family is the primary unit in the state; do not tolerate any legislation which would introduce into the family those practices which are opposed to the natural law of God. For there are other ways by which a government can and should solve the population problem—that is to say by enacting laws which will assist families and by educating the people wisely so that the moral law and the freedom of the citizens are both safeguarded.

Here's the thing, and kind of Texas's abstinence only, what's the back up plan? Plan Parenthood spends 97 percent of its funding on women's healthcare from cancer screening to contraception. Kill that funding and again, just like Texas's "what now" abstinence plan, there are ramifications and the proponents of killing funding just aren't good at the "now what" second step.

Holes in arguments are a leading cause of unwanted pregnancy. (I think.)

It's simpler when you're not irresponsible. Yes, I know not all single mothers are single mothers because they're irresponsible. But too many are. And plenty become welfare moms on purpose. They get to both enjoy being a mother and get everything for free. They exploit the system. My mom was a good person, but I think she also probably exploited the system. My best friend who was around my age and lived in the same apartment building also had a single mom. But his mom worked fulltime at a See's candy shop. As far as I know she never collected a dime of welfare and never used food stamps.

The "just say no" approach is cheap and ineffective, like most of Republican policies for families.
Lots of couples choose and succeed at being childless. My brother and his wife made that choice and have been married over 40 years. And he's never said anything about having gotten a vasectomy or her tubes being tied, or her ever getting an abortion, and that's not the sort thing he'd keep secret. So it can be done.
