Is called context so it does matter. You can’t just make a verse say what you want just because you want it.
Agreed, and applies to us all, which is why I don't try to talk over what Jesus says or add anything to His words, because He does not need our help.
Like this example:
And Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath. The Lord can change it as He wishes.
Where did Jesus abrogate the Sabbath commandment? He made the Sabbath at Creation Exo 20:11, it was always part of His perfect will. He sanctified the Sabbath and blessed it and than wrote the 4th commandment along with His other eternal commandments with His own finger and than said Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, because He knew everyone would forget. God blessed the Sabbath and sanctified- once God blesses no man can reverse Num 23:20 so pray tell where He did so in clear language reverse His Sabbath blessing and abrogate this commandment. He instead said in His own voice the Sabbath will be kept by His faithful 40 years after He ratified His covenant, when He said it is finished- nothing can be changed after His death to His covenant. And promise the Sabbath continues for eternity for His saints Isa 66:23
Yes, the Lord can make changes as He wishes, but He clearly said He did not come to destroy the Law, but came to magnify it, which means make greater not lessor
Isa 42:21. He promised He would
not alter the words of His covenant
Psa 89:34 not a jot or tittle. so I try not to make the Scriptures contradict His promises.
Jesus claiming He is Lord of the Sabbath means the Sabbath very much stands. And who are we to come and destroy something God said He would not. God's holy day, the holy day of the Lord Isa 58:13 Its like someone coming into your house that you are lord of and telling you to tear it down.
And since Jesus fulfilled the law He also fulfilled the Sabbath.
He fulfilled it meaning to fill-full like a wedding covenant- does that mean we can commit adultery or fulfilling it means to keep the promise. Jesus kept it as our example to follow
John 15:10 Luke 4:16
1 John 2:6
Not fulfilled so we can now worship other gods or murder or break any of God's law. This is never what Jesus taught.
We are not under the law. Don’t you know that no one was ever saved by the law?
We are saved by grace
through faith. Obeying God, the way God said is a fruit of our salvation and faith in Him and a consequence of our salvation
Rev 14:12 Rev 22:14 not a means to it. No one who disobeys God without repenting and turning from is going to live according to what Jesus said.
Heb 10:26-30 1 John 2:4 Mat 7:21-23
Rev 22:15
““Do not presume that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke of a letter shall pass from the Law, until all is accomplished!”
Matthew 5:17-18 NASB2020
When do you think is when it is accomplished?
Jesus said when
all is accomplished, never said when some things are and the next verse puts this in perspective for us, or at least should
Not accomplished
Mat 24:30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn,
and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His [
d]elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Not accomplished
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
Not accomplished
“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.
Therefore this still stands why Jesus said it relates to heaven and us being there or not (judgement) not at the cross as we were not even born.
Mat 5:19
Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called
least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches
them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
But if you want to test the Lord that this means after His Cross we can now worship other gods, vain His holy name, bow to idols, break His holy Sabbath day, steal, covet, murder our brethren or break the least of these commandments and teach others to and no longer applies than Jesus had not needed to die if He could have just removed the law. Jesus did not teach at the Cross we are free to dishonor God by breaking God's law Rom 2:21-23, Sin Rom 7:7 Mat 5:19-30, and be an enmity to God Rom 8:7-8 and Jesus is teaching people how to be lost so He can say depart from Me, ye who practice lawlessness (without law) at His Second Coming Mat 7:23
For me, God tells us if we love Him keep His commandments Exo 20:6 Mat 14:15 as it is the love of God 1 John 5:3 and how we abide in Him John 15:10 1 John 3:24.
Jesus tells us as He is dying in the cross bring in the beginning of the new covenant. Out with the old, in with the new.
The new covenant was never established on new/better laws. It was
established on better promises Heb 8:6, it still has
God's laws now written on a better surface, our hearts 2 Cor 3:3 Heb 8:10 no longer based on what we do, but based on what He does in us, if we do not harden our hearts to the deceitfulness of sin. Heb 3:13 as sin is still breaking God's laws in the NC 1 John 3:4 James 2:11-12 Rom 7:7 Mat 5:19-30
“Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.”
John 19:30 NASB2020
Amen! The veil of the earthy temple tore and no more animal sacrifices for sin as Jesus became our Passover Lamb for sins and we can go directly to Him now in the New Covenant one of the much better promises. And when we confess our sins, He says go and sin no more as we are to confess and forsake (turn from) our sins Pro 28:13 and live a new life in Him- did Jesus break the commandments and taught anyone to? No, He taught the opposite Mat 15:3-14 Mark 7:7-13 Mat 5:19-30 Mat 19:17-19 John 14:15 so its going to be hard to make the case in my humble opinion to say I beleive in you Jesus, but not what you taught or lived to be our example 2 Peter 2:21-23 1 John 2:6 Heb 4:15
Luke 6:46 “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?
If you want to live by the law then you will have to keep all of it. Good luck with that. Here is what Paul explains:
“For all who are of works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all the things
written in the book of the Law, to do them.” Now, that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, “the righteous one will live by faith.” However, the Law is not of faith; on the contrary, “The person who performs them will live by them.” Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”— in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham would come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”
Galatians 3:10-14 NASB2020
For all who are of works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written: “CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO DOES NOT ABIDE BY ALL THE THINGS WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF THE LAW, TO DO THEM.” Now, that no one is just

Yes, Paul is talking about the curses that are written in the book of the Law, which is what was placed
outside the Ten Commandments in the ark of the covenant Deut 31:24-31. Jesus did take away the curse for us, but not everyone accepts His free gift by following what He asks. He doesn't ask for much, but sadly that seems to be too much for most.
I guess it will get sorted out at His soon Return. We will all have to live with our decisions Rom 6:16 Rev 22:11
