Also, the protection of illegal immigrants seems British! They (falsely) see Latin America as "Spain", a country Brits happen to love most dearly. So when they see what they view as a Spanish invasion of America, they feel excited about it, and the left seems to follow.
Well, you at least don't seem to be afraid of being "unique." :)

And now they're in lock step with MAGA. Except those who are afraid to be unique because of MAGA.
MAGA is the only force that gives us a unique identity, by loving America first... For whatever it is.

The democrats should just be open about it, and call themselves MABA. Make America British Again.

I'm grateful for the culture we've created, though the efforts of the many people who came to North America from other parts of the globe, bringing their food and music and agriculture and languages and philosophies. It's a really beautiful mosaic that's been built here.

What would the culture of this country be if all those millions of people who’ve contributed had just stayed in their home countries like so many seem to want now? Like what is actual, pure American culture without all the outside influences? What you’re saying sounds an awful lot like “diversity is our strength”.

Nobody says diversity isn't our strength. We just ask they come legally.

And since it wasn't done legally, we now see tribalism in Los Angeles when the law gets applied.

The played "Don't Stop Believing." Such an important message in these times, because if the good give up where will we be?
Are you referring to the Journey song? I took a look at the lyrics and for the life of me I can't discern what they're asking me to not stop believing in. Can you enlighten me?

I am grateful for having been born in a country of freedoms, justice, and opportunities. But, I feel like this isn't that country anymore, and 'm not feeling very proud of it right now. I decided not to fly my flag this July 4th, and I don't know when I will feel like it again. But, I hope to.

How many of the pet-eation Haitians came here illegally?
And since it wasn't done legally, we now see tribalism in Los Angeles when the law gets applied.
Perhaps because they think the law is not being carried out legally. The Los Angeles "tribe" is a pretty diverse.

How many decades have immigration laws been sloughed off? How many times did politicians like Biden say, there's "nothing we can do" about illegal immigration?

Well, the time has come people want to do something about it for once, and nothings going to get in the way. We demand the enforcement of immigration laws. And we demand results, immediately. It is this kind of energy we see now, and it is because people sat on their hands for so long.

...Next time, don't do this kind of thing, and it might prevent such an aggressive counter-reaction.

I am very grateful that in the past (before the horribly pathetic current Democrats and Republicans) America demonstrated that a non-feudal society could be successful, Not perfect but much better than the more utopian efforts failed miserably.
July 4th is a family holiday for me, like Christmas or Thanksgiving not a patriotic one, especially now where my pride in my country is about zero.

Many politicians of both parties.
Politicians of both parties.

And many of us hoped that the focus would be on criminals and those working here illegally. Instead we see an emphasis on asylum seekers and refugees whose presence is constructively legal. Then we saw how Trump got his hand slapped when he proposed to send ICE into Imperial Valley farms.
...Next time, don't do this kind of thing, and it might prevent such an aggressive counter-reaction.

Don't give up, what I saw at the fireworks was hundreds of ordinary Americans celebrating their America, not MAGA's America.

I won't be satisfied until 20 years of reverse-order has occured in compensation for the 20 years of slough-off time.

...If course, I know I won't get that. Realistically I only have 3 more years. But we're going to make it count!

And none of those evil aliens will be left but those who work illegally in selected industries, and in the meantime you are enjoying Deportation Theater. It's a win-win.

I haven’t given up. I’m sure we will bounce back and this is just a phase to move through that will end when Trump dies (or his base does) and/or people start reinvesting in the vision of America. It’s a phase, that’s all.

I just feel like celebrating while I’m in it is all.
