I'm pretty up beat about it myself. Just got back from a band concert and fireworks with hundreds of townspeople, all colors all ages, all working class people celebrating America together.

Just watched fireworks at the Casino. The tribes are a good example of people who conquered adversity. They are amazing employers, great tips, benefits. You can even use the tribal clinics absolutely free.
The played "Don't Stop Believing." Such an important message in these times, because if the good give up where will we be?
And finally, they used a lot of gunpowder to entertain and bring people together. I knew if I lived long enough I would one day see a peaceful use of gunpowder and tonight I did. Thanks to our first Americans for a wonderful time. Let us remember that we will always be the immigrants to them

Politics wise, there is nothing to be grateful for. But family wise. At least my mom and brother. is still alive. And other family is a live.

I am very grateful that in the past (before the horribly pathetic current Democrats and Republicans) America demonstrated that a non-feudal society could be successful, Not perfect but much better than the more utopian efforts failed miserably.

I feel grateful that the Good Lord has delivered me from the illusion that this country even knows or seeks to know the God Who made us, in Whom we say we trust, in Whom we say we are blessed.

The fact that we, as a nation, do not know Him is amply demonstrated by our fruits - including serving as a chief exporter of sin to the world.

His axe is poised at the root. Pray for nationwide humbling and repentance and revival for this and all nations.

Deuteronomy 8:19-20
"If you ever forget the Lord your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed. Like the nations the Lord destroyed before you, so you will be destroyed for not obeying the Lord your God."

God *truly* bless we who do, and shall, repent and trust Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and Lord, and obey Him. To Him alone belongs all power, honor, and glory!

I think that the society based on slavery, on the genocide of the natives, on racism etc. was worse than a feudal society in Europe.

I guess the USA looked better on paper, in theory, than in reality. One great thing was the freedom of religion, but even this was not applied equally (for example Natives were forced to be Christianized in some areas).

Sorry, I'd rather have freedom of religion.

Do you concede it was society that citizens treated other citizens well and had a potential to improve?

And today, and for a good while now, our government and society are forcing secularization.

Who is bearing the foulest fruit?

One hint: the genocide of millions of babies in their mother's wombs.

I try to be thankful every day. Not being an American, 4th July is not a special day for me. I try to live out what Paul wrote:

“18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,” (Eph 5:18-20 NKJV)

...Then all of a sudden, the left identified itself as British. Now the democrats advocate for everything British, such as a ban on guns, universal Healthcare, increased social programs, limitations on free speech, government intervention in the economy in regards to economic inequality, and overwhelming support for LGBTQ "rights" such as forcing people to use certain pronouns against their will.

I would say, that Britain actually still has an invisible hand that controls a demographic section of the United States, and that Britain still sees the United States as it's own, and that this British derived dilemma is what is destroying the United States from within, by dismantling our unique identity, and turning us more Britishesque.

There are better adjectives than "British" to describe a government like that. Ethical, compassionate, inclusive, and good.
Republicans are the ones who have the market cornered on speech limitations. Book banns. Banning the AP and other media from press conferences. Frivolous lawsuits against television stations. Threatening law firms who take cases opposing the Trump agenda.

What do "you guys" want to be?

We want a unique identity of our own, grown organically, by who we are as a country.

...But some people are afraid to be unique.

Also, the protection of illegal immigrants seems British! They (falsely) see Latin America as "Spain", a country Brits happen to love most dearly. So when they see what they view as a Spanish infiltration of America, they feel excited about it, like a kind of "good medicine", and the American left seems to submit to what most Brit's think.

It is widely known that the British are quite fond of the Spanish.

And now they're in lock step with MAGA. Except those who are afraid to be unique because of MAGA.
