Even Most Democrats Say No To Latest Attention-Seeking Trump Impeachment Attempt

Seventy-nine House Democrats voted against blocking a motion to impeach President Donald Trump for launching military strikes on Iran without seeking authorization from Congress.
The House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly — 344 to 79 — to table a resolution from Democratic Texas Rep. Al Green to impeach the president. Green, a liberal firebrand who has repeatedly sought to oust Trump for allegedly abusing his power, filed articles of impeachment against the president Tuesday morning and immediately forced lawmakers to vote on his resolution.
House Democratic leadership notably joined GOP lawmakers in rejecting Green’s impeachment push. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries’ decision to help torpedo a resolution impeaching the president follows his move to quash a similar impeachment push from Democratic Michigan Rep. Shri Thanedar in April.
There may just be hope for the party...

Barring President Trump telling us live, on-air that he’s selling the nation to some foreign nation, I vow not to support any attempt to impeach him until after January 21, 2029.

I am sure they all believe he needs to be impeached...but are assessing the pros and cons.
At the moment some people think there will be no repercussions. Irrational exuberance reigns.

It'll be fun to see how many more they come up with.
Sure. But if Trump continues flouting the law, one might even stick. You never know.

President Trump has not committed any impeachable offenses during this term. Any DEMS calling for impeaching President Trump is out of their mind.

If I were an advisor to the Democrats, I would recommend that they remain quiet and allow events to unfold naturally. By 2026, the price of tomatoes will reach $7 per pound, avocados will cost $5 each, iPhones will be priced at $3000, and the United States will be involved in a prolonged conflict in the Middle East with Iran. The voters will address these issues accordingly.

Well basically we are almost saying the same thing. We both expect a lot of bad outcomes.

While I and many Democrats believe is that his continually overstepping his Constitutional powers is impeachable, the people who believe in him are going to have to suffer the results of his disastrous decisions and repent before impeachment will be possible. Unfortunately, they will drag the rest of us into suffering, too, but at least we aren't responsible.

Sadly, that's probably the only thing that will finally get through to these hard-headed folk: suffering.

Can you tell me on which particular instant President Trump violated US constitution?

Saturday's bombing of Iran without Congressional knowledge or approval was obviously the most egregious one. Sending 4,000 members of the National Guard to Los Angeles without the necessary emergency declarations and against the will of the governor was another. The plane to El Salvador that continued flying although it was ordered to return was another. Defying judicial orders. New ones seem to spring up daily.

Can you cite any court rulings that state bombing Iran without congressional knowledge is a violation of the law? or is that your opinion?

The national guard deployment has led to differing opinions in the courts, with one ruling in favor of President Trump and another ruling against him. We will see how Supreme Court make decision.

Are you sure President Trump was personally involved when the plan took off to El Salvador, or are you accusing him because someone else violated judicial orders in his name?

Court opinion changes from this to that.

But in your own educated opinion, does the US constitution reserve the decision to initiate acts of war to the Congress or not?

There's dozens of lawsuits awaiting final rulings. I believe that the Supreme Court, although it has three Trump appointees is well aware that when Trump oversteps his bounds time after time after time after time that he is taking away their power, that he is taking away the judiciary's ability for oversight, so that in ruling against him in many or most of the lawsuits they are not only preserving the Constitution but their own role in it.

If I recall correctly, Congress granted temporary permission to President George W. Bush to initiate military action without congressional approval. This "temporary permission" has never been rescinded. The Democratic Congress did not want to rescind this power when Presidents Obama or Biden were in office, and the GOP does not want to rescind it when a Republican president is in office.

I'd say more a feckless protest.

Nobody with power wants to hold a Republican President accountable so there really isn't a point.

I'm sure that the Democratic Party is hoping that your predictions will happen. But, we are NOT going to be in a prolonged conflict in the Middle East with Iran by 2026. Also, inflation ain't going to rise up that much as you are predicting for some fresh fruit and vegetables.
