Ughh not again...

So i just went to church for my birthday yesterday since it falls on a Sunday this year and I learned some REALLY hard news from our Elder Larry. One of our co elders is currently in the hospital fighting for his life. I don't know the full details because im not in church every Sunday because my wifes busy with work and church is so far but apparently from what ive caught from emails and what Larry has said yesterday is they've got him on a ventilator and there is blood in his lungs and his chances of making it are around 10%.

This is a co elder that I personally am very close to and knows me by name. Im not as close to him as I am to Larry but he leads the prayer of praise at our church and has preached a few times when Larry was on vacation and I definitely missed his absence at church yesterday. I had no idea he was in the ICU fighting for his life and honestly this news is both deeply affecting me and both deeply bringing me joy at the same time. Joy because he is about to be with Christ and be no longer suffering and in pain and it's bringing me suffering because he is at deaths door like I was 2 years ago but hes much, much closer to death than I was. I just... cant....

Please also help Neostar release His concern to You as well, to realize that You are in control of life and death, and help him to have peace and stable emotions. You have given him empathy for his elder; help him to manage it and walk in the light.

Thank you! When I was in the in the ICU at dartmouth two years ago fighting for my life myself all alone several states away from my family/wife and had nobody but the nurses and doctors at dartmouth and the Christian forums for company (and larry and i were emailing back and forth) i had difficulty submitting everything in God's hands then too so this isnt anything new. I haven't received any email update from Larry yet so im assuming Mark is still okay for now and doctors are still trying. As soon as they are either successful or... not I will let everyone know.

Larry is our Elder the one giving the news on the situation its our Co elder Mark that needs the prayers and is in the hospital sorry for the confusion! In the future to avoid confusion ill just mention Mark by name and just say "our elder" when referring to Larry. Sorry the PCA can get confusing i know with all of the titles we have in our leadership!

Anyway... still no update i emailed our elder and he got back to me and said he hasn't heard anything from Marks wife yet but will send out a mass email as soon as he gets a call from her.

So i got an unfortunate but predictable update from our elder. He received a phone call from Mark's wife this morning. Doctors have done all that they can do for him and unfortunately he has been placed in hospice care and theyre doing their best to make his final days as comfortable as possible. Thank you for your prayers and he will be with Christ soon.

Im... okay. I have my wife and elder for comfort. I'll be OK but it does have me wondering whats going to happen to me when our head elder dies because im far closer to him. But... thats for future me to worry about.

I just got an email from Larry. Mark is in glory he passed away last night. Thank you for your prayers. I've had time to cope with the loss and am ok now and am glad he is with Christ now. Thanks again!
