Trump threatens to stop grant funding because the schools are not protecting a specific race.

He has the authority to do so.

Governor Newsom does not.

President Trump does not have a legal basis to pursue action against Governor Gavin Newsom. Consequently, he is attempting to address the matter through federal funding. If Gavin Newsom were engaging in discrimination against a specific race, President Trump could argue that this violates anti-discrimination laws and take the issue to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court would likely side with President Trump. However, since President Trump has no standing regarding which gender can participate in which sport, he is resorting to leveraging federal funding.

President Trump has decided that not all immigrants are criminals. He has asked ICE agents to stop raiding farms and hotels to deport migrant workers in agriculture and hospitality industries. I commend President Trump for this change of mind. Thank you MR President for seeing undocumented immigrant are hard working good people.

There is no evidence for "20 million". It is a exaggerated number Trump made up on while campaigning. The rest of this is paranoid fantasies (most in criminal gangs) of the RW propagandists.

“As of 2022, unauthorized immigrants represented 3.3% of the total U.S. population and 23% of the foreign-born population. These shares were lower than the peak values in 2007 but slightly higher than in 2019.”

What we know about unauthorized immigrants living in the U.S.

The unauthorized immigrant population in the U.S. grew to 11 million in 2022, but remained below the peak of 12.2 million in 2007.

The whole premise is implausible -- the IRS collects federal taxes from employers in California just like in any other state. People without employer withholding have to make direct payments to the IRS of their estimated taxes. The State of California doesn't collect taxes on behalf of the IRS.

Really Hans considering you already have 10 million illegals living in America prior to this lot turning up. Whether Trumps tally of around 20 million is exaggerated or not is open either way for debate . But even if 10 million that is horrific enough. You say all these illegals as criminals and criminal gangs are pure fantasy and mere propaganda. Well go and tell all those who have loved and lost ones. Go and tell all those who have been physically assaulted and raped by such illegals. Perhaps it is you that needs a reality check

Well Faithinhim very true. I don’t think it was ever Trumps intention to deport illegals that have proved their worth being here some 20 yrs . But yes there will be mistakes no doubt. But if someone hadn’t left the boarder wide open and invited them all in. we wouldn’t be in this mess .

It absolutely is. There is no number from any organization tracking the number that comes anywhere close to it. It only entered into the "discourse" because Trump started pulling that number from the air during political rallies.
