Why wasn’t their asylum status determined before issuing him work permits?
Because the application qualifies the provisional work visa.
So for 2 years he was promptly given a work permit but they couldn’t determine the asylum status.
Correct, that's one reason why the bipartisan immigration bill would have hired more immigration judges to deal with the backlog more efficiently.

How did they make it over Trump's wall?
Joe let them right through. There were in the middle of replacing some of the last pieces of the wall when Joe took over. Not only did he refuse to replace the wall sections, he tried selling off those sections just before he left office.

There were 2 immigration bills.
Probably bunches of them, but a specific one that failed to pass after Trump torpedoed it would have...

supported more than 4,300 asylum officers at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, 1,500 new Customs and Border Protection personnel—including both Border Patrol agents and customs officers—1,200 Immigration and Customs Enforcement employees, 100 immigration judges and support staff and additional USCIS staff.

Under the bill, migrants entering the country would have either been detained or faced government monitoring while they await the outcome of their hastened asylum screening.

The bill sank in large part due to pressure placed on Republican senators by House leadership and former President Trump, who has made the issue a key pillar of his campaign.

Staffing levels of border agents were specified in HR 2:

Increased Border Patrol Agents: The bill directs Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to hire enough Border Patrol agents to maintain a staffing level of at least 22,000

HR 6542 “bipartisan” bill lacked specifics on this:

In summary, HR 6542 does not pertain to border agent levels and did not become law.

That was to process even more into the country. The bill was another hoax!

Staffing levels of border agents were specified in HR 2:
Your original complaint was about the speed with which asylum claims were processed. Border agents do not adjudicate asylum claims.

So for 2 years he was promptly given a work permit but they couldn’t determine the asylum status.
An additional 4,300 asylum officers would have been able to process claims faster and more efficiently. But as you note, that bipartisan bill was not passed. Due primarily to the interference of Trump.

It was dead on arrival, no chance for such a damaging bill. What had happened was Democrats in the Senate refused to let the legitimate House bill that had passed come up for a vote. Democrats stalled for over a year. They began to get more and more flack from the public and instead of coming up with their own version of the passed bill decided to create that disaster of a bill.

Rubbish, it was a bipartisan bill with support from both parties.

The rise in anti semetism is the result of a rise in hate plain and simple for the fact that no rational can justify hate against another based on their race, religion, ethnics or belief full stop.

Its just plain old hate of a particular group of people because of why they are.

As Christ said holding hate and anger in the heart puts people in danger of breaking the 6th commandment.

It was headed to passage in the Senate, but then ex-Pres. Trump lambasted it and Speaker Johnson then lined up said there would be no vote in the House, effectively killing it.

Just as I--and 49.9% of American voters--are innocent of the cruelty, havoc, and economic catastrophes caused by Donald J. Trump, so American and Israeli Jews are not responsible for the atrocities committed by Netanyahu, who is a minority prime minister whose "majority" was patched together by a coalition. Of course they want their hostages released--so do I! But I imagine that Hamas thinks they are the only bargaining chip they have, probably the only bargaining chip against complete obliteration in order to build a Trump Resort: "Bloodbath Beach!"

I always love the "he is not my president" just to get a jab in. So I guess all the bad things caused by Biden during his term you should be responsible for. Due to his lack in enforcement, the girls that got violated and killed by illegals will be on your hands since you voted for him. Also the economic restrictions placed on my country Malaysia. Remember the chip restrictions on Tier 2 countries? Guess if my country is Tier 2. Yes it is.

To me where you're Red or Blue the rest of the world gets a black eye. So stop being pedantic.

I accept responsibility for the far fewer problems caused by a president whom historians rank as 16th. The president ranked last has caused more catastrophes in 4 months than the aggregate mistakes of all the presidents in my lifetime combined. It is impossible to quantify exactly how disastrous his presidency is. It's kind of like living with an earthquake and hanging on for dear life praying for it to stop.

I don't know, conservative Christians seem to have no trouble hating.

Thats almost seems the same thing as hate for another group by lumping them into stereotypes to demean them. I am sure most conservatives are not hateful. Conservative is almost mainstream and has been for a long time. Its just being more traditional and maintaining orthodoxy. Theres a diverse range of conservatives.

Conservative Christianity, also known as conservative theology, theological conservatism, traditional Christianity,[1][2] or biblical orthodoxy[3] is a grouping of overlapping and denominationally diverse theological movements within Christianity that seeks to retain the orthodox and long-standing traditions and beliefs of Christianity.

Can't see anything wrong with that. If they want to maintain tradition and orthodoxy then that is good isn't it. Its respecting the long held beliefs and traditions.

Like global warming denial, for instance. We all know that Jesus thought global warming was a hoax. Obviously people who support doing something about global warming are hateful and evil.

How could Jesus know it was a hoax when climate change was not even on the radar. He knew there would be another type of change and it was way worse than global warming lol.

That's an orthodox conservative Christian belief in this country. I don't know what the proof texts are, I just threw it in as an example of the kind of thing you are talking about. How about opposition to any kind of gun control? Support for the death penalty? Besides the sex stuff and illegal aliens, those are all hot-button issues for biblical Christians
