They are literally making stuff up to justify their policies.

What ever it takes to get their goals accomplished, it seems.

To celebrate the AI hallucinations in the report...

RFK Jr. Did Raw-Milk Shooters in the White House

[RFK Jr.] recorded an interview with wellness influencer Paul Saladino, which culminated in the two doing raw-milk shooters in the White House.

Saladino was one of many influencers invited to the White House to help roll out Kennedy’s MAHA agenda this week. Other invitees included longtime RFK supporter and influencer Vani Hari, a.k.a. the Food Babe; anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist Sayer Ji, and the fitness influencer and biohacker Ben Greenfield (known for such writing as [nope].

The growing popularity of unpasteurized milk in the United States raises public health concerns. We estimated outbreak-related illnesses and hospitalizations caused by the consumption of cow’s milk and cheese contaminated with Shiga toxin–producing Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Listeria monocytogenes, and Campylobacter spp. using a model relying on publicly available outbreak data. In the United States, outbreaks associated with dairy consumption cause, on average, 760 illnesses/year and 22 hospitalizations/year, mostly from Salmonella spp. and Campylobacter spp. Unpasteurized milk, consumed by only 3.2% of the population, and cheese, consumed by only 1.6% of the population, caused 96% of illnesses caused by contaminated dairy products. Unpasteurized dairy products thus cause 840 (95% CrI 611–1,158) times more illnesses and 45 (95% CrI 34–59) times more hospitalizations than pasteurized products. As consumption of unpasteurized dairy products grows, illnesses will increase steadily; a doubling in the consumption of unpasteurized milk or cheese could increase outbreak-related illnesses by 96%.---NIH

Thus why RFKjr is preventing government written research being made available to the public.

I'm sorry, but I was assured by the Right that RFK's kooky beliefs would have no impact on public health and would, in fact, Make America Healthy Again! Are you saying they... lied to me??

...Guohua Li, a Columbia University professor who was named as an author of a report on the mental health of children in the pandemic, told Agence France-Presse that the reference was "totally fabricated" and that he does not even know the listed co-author....
Finally, we have leadership who fully get that public and personal health is a vibe, not a science.

What happens when you try to fix 'formatting errors' really quickly?

RFK Jr’s team adds new errors to its ‘MAHA’ report, making the fiasco worse

several of the errors from the original report have been edited or removed, but in the process, administration officials have added new errors, including updated citations that “misinterpret scientific studies.”
Misinterpretation of scientific studies is what I expected from them. I'm surprised it took them this long (in an edit) to do this.

They are literally making stuff up to justify their policies.
I'm going to be super generous here. There are over 500 citations in the report (https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/MAHA-Report-The-White-House.pdf) and I would expect a couple of errors. That there are more than a couple is concerning. It shows sloppy work. A lack of diligence. But I can't accept that it was intentional. Surely no-one would think that the authors of any study listed would not check to see how it had been used. Nobody is stupid enough to think that 'hey, no-one will notice'.

Well, except maybe the guy sitting behind the Resolute Desk.

Citing papers that literally don't exist isn't the sort of error that anyone should expect. Generally speaking, when writing such a report, the expectation is that the author (or authors) have actually read the sources that they're citing from (or at least the relevant sections of those sources). The only ways you end up citing a non-existent paper are if you deliberately made it up or you used AI to write the report rather than researching and writing it yourself. One of those is worse than the other, but only marginally.

Standard for this administration.
