Trump pardons drive a big, burgeoning business for lobbyists

I looked at the title and went "Eh." Saw where the article originated and kind of went "Oh." The dirty open secret is that everything in DC is a burgeoning business for lobbyists. Thus it was long before I was born, and thus it likely will continue long after I've gone on. Doesn't matter what it is. Defense contracts? Lobbyists. Energy? Lobbyists. That includes "green" energy, BTW. Someone wants to promote something? Someone wants to squelch something? Odds are there are lobbyists for that, willing to work on your behalf, some pro bono and some for a fee. The implication by headline is that this is something unusual. It's about as unusual as Captain Renault in Casablanca discovering gambling in Rick's. Lobbyists for pardons? I'd be shocked if there were none.
