Reading that article it doesn't say the guy was arresting, or armed or threatening in anyway. It seems his crime was having Mexican heritage and skin colour to match.

But beside that, it says he was wrestled to the ground. Why was that necessary?

If he said he was a US citizen and provided identification as is claimed then he did nothing wrong.

Oh good grief, the guy eas hanging around a bunch of illegals. Gee, if I was hanging around a bunch of illegals I would expect to get picked up too. But then I dont do that. Just like I dont hang out with gang bangers or mobsters or anyone else like that.

So spare me the outrage. It was an illegals raid, he was hanging with illegals, including family members and he got swept up. They figured it out and let him go.

Why shouldnt it? If you are hanging around a bunch of illegals, including family members and there's a raid, you should expect to be caught up in it. You expect that it may take a bit to sort it out. Give me a break. If I'm hanging with the mob and there is a mob raid then what kind of person thinks they shouldn't be looked at as possibly being a part of the mob?

But then I'm not hanging with those kind of people. But if I were, I wouldn't be surprised if I was picked up and suspect.

Why should it 'take a bit'? Why shouldn't the ten seconds it takes for the 'papers please' patrol to look at your REAL ID with your picture on it not be enough?
What's the point of having photo identification if it will be ignored as identification?

He was not "hanging around", he was working a construction job. In the USA, it's pretty hard to find a sizeable construction job without illegals involved.

He wasn't "hanging around with" he was at his job. You know, that thing everyone needs in order to live. He did not just decide to associate with these guys for no particular reason and get swept up so perhaps you could try a little empathy or is the idea of government overreach no longer a thing in conservative circles?
