  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have an appointment to see my GP June 10. There is a horrible shortage of doctors here now, and there is sometimes a long wait. They no longer spend much time with the patient and they don't seem as caring. Our health care system here in New Zealand was great when I moved here in 2012, but since the government has taken over more, it isn't too great.
I'm sorry to hear that about your health system. It's hard not to feel uneasy, when a health system is struggling to keep up with the demand. And when having a long wait to get in to see the Doc.

Praying for you, and that your GP will have some answers for you when you see him/her on June 10th. And that God would keep His Protective Sheltering Arms over you, during this time of waiting.

Just spoke with Father after Mass, he's giving me a pass on the classes parents have to take before having their kid is baptized. Thanks be to God, they only have them on Monday nights when I have to work, my wife is still gonna go though. So we're green lit for Joey's baptism on Saturday. It's gonna be a group baptism in Spanish which may be amusing.

Teddy's godparents are flying in from NY to be Joey's godparents as well. Joey's baptism is the 24th and my mom's 72nd birthday is the 25th, so we might have a joint celebration on Saturday.
To hear you talk about your family life reminds me abit of mine, when I was a child. There were 5 of us kids, and so it seems there was always a baptism or communion or confirmation going on! Those were happy times in our family life. Lots of relatives and friends joined in the celebrations. That was the really nice thing about growing up in a Catholic culture. Many Catholics, with many things to celebrate together!

May God continue to bless your family.

I don’t know if any of you or someone you know have issues with their eyes and reading small print but they opened an Ollie’s here. I went in and noticed Bibles with large and giant print in the book section. They are not Catholic Bibles but for someone like my mom it would work. 12.00-20.00.

Good Morning all :)

A bit cooler here this morning and it's certainly very quiet round here
I hope the greyish clouds vanish soon and we return to blue skies and sun
Good morning Anhelyna!

It's warming up in my area of Nebraska, after a very cool time!

God bless you!

It’s my understanding the stones were blocking my kidneys that was thinning out one of my kidneys. I have a massive one in my right kidney and a couple of stents in. I’m uncomfortable as far as that is concerned. I did not know there was an issue. They discovered it when I had pneumonia. I also have something on my pancreas they are wanting to see along with the adrenal gland.

I’m sorry to hear of your health issues and being so far away from your family. It must be difficult but it sounds like God is guiding and directing you through this time. I will add you and your family to my prayers.

I’m trying to continue regular activities but that sense of urgency when it comes to the urination makes it difficult. Not getting much out. But I pray that this latest surgery will help with all that. I’m not sure if I passed much that were in the ureter. It does not feel like it. TMI on my end. lol! God bless you!
This past Sunday we heard the first reading from the book of Acts and one verse struck me.

“It is necessary for us to undergo many hardships to enter the kingdom of God”
Acts 14

Years ago, I used to grumble at hardships and thought God was punishing me for lack of faith. Now I gladly accept all hardship regardless.
The atheist cry was always if there is a God, why is there so much suffering in the world? The answer is that it gives us the chance to imitate Christ, who suffered and died for us
That is the call of the Gospel, deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow in Jesus footsteps
Patience in suffering keeps us on the path to heaven

Peace be with you and may God continue to bless you and call you to Himself

Good morning from San Antonio, TX
Little hot here but I enjoy it
Good morning! A chilly 49 degrees and rainy here. Only supposed to get to 62 degrees today. I’m supposed to get a call from the doctor to know what time to arrive for surgery tomorrow. Trying to keep my anxiety down. :praying:

Just think ... 24 hours from now, the surgery will be all done!

( ... that's how I like to look at things, when facing something difficult. )

Hope the procedure goes well.
