  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Do you have any Interesting stories to tell ?

One day on February 16th 2016 this women came into her house from the garden & collapsed, luckily for her her husband had finished early that day & the first respondents were down at the local rugby pitch.

How ever upon her collapse her husband called the ambulance & it was the first respondents who quickly came up the house who in turn called an helicopter to fly this women to Cardiif Hospital for a triple A heart operation where by there is only 1 in every 100 that survive. The surgeon who performed the operation had just finished his long shift but stayed on to perform this women's operation.

This women was me & I thank God everyday for saving my life as he was certainly looking over me that day. :praying:

My fiancee received a call from his son saying that a cat had been crying outside their home all night. He knew immediately after he told me about the call,we would be going over to their house.

When I saw him, my heart was broken. He was older, skinny and covered with hundreds of fleas. He tried to walk to us but fell over (not sure if it was from starvation or from all the fleas and bugs swarming him). His face was also swollen because he had abscessed teeth.
This cat had been declawed and neutered, so at one point in his life he had been an indoor cat. We did not need anymore fur babies (we have 3 dogs and 2 rescue cats already), but I refused to leave this cat behind.

I slept with him in the spare bedroom and he purred all night. That morning we took him to our vet. She told us he was in very bad shape and asked if we wanted to have him put to sleep. I cried and cried and told her that he deserved a chance to live. That's when I named him Trooper (one who does not give up in the face of adversity) and decided to get a second opinion from another vet.

The second vet did say he was in bad shape but did not even mention putting him to sleep (thank goodness). Trooper was placed on antibiotics and had five of his teeth pulled. He did not have any diseases that would harm my other cats.
The vet guessed that he was about 15 years old and from the condition he was in, he had not been an indoor cat for many years.

Trooper has brought so much joy to us. This guy just wants love, affection, food and lots of naps (lol). We love our Trooper and hope he has many more years with us! He will never be alone on the streets again!

It is suggested here that Archie and Lilibet look just like Harry, especially because of their red hair. It was also said that Lilibet’s face looks like QEll.

Well how does this person know all of this? Is this person an extremely close friend of the Sussex’s and in their home all the time where these children can be found?

I have only seen 5 or 6 pictures of these kids. In one, Archie is a flaming red head. In another (same age) is bitter sweet chocolate brown.

Most pictures of them have them in hats or backs to the camera.

Archie is now 5–6. The last public pictures of him he could not have been more than 3 but really looks younger. The last pictures of lilibet who is now 3 looks still in diapers.

No one knows what these kids look like, if they exist and if they do, who their biological parents are.

They will probably be locked in their home with their boundary being their property line.

They will be homeschooled through grade 12. By then they will be so messed up that they can’t never integrate into society.

Do you think that these kids exist ?

A COUPLE went to breakfast at a restaurant where the “seniors' special” was two Eggs, Bacon, Hash Browns, and Toast for $2.99.

“Sounds good,” the wife said…“but I don't want the eggs..”

“Then, I'll have to charge you $3.49 because you're ordering a la carte,”…the waiter warned her.

“You mean I'd have to pay for not taking the eggs?”…the wife asked incredulously.

“YES!”… stated the waiter.

“I'll take the special then,”…the wife said..

“Great…how do you want your eggs?“…the waiter asked.

“Raw and in the shell,”…the wife replied.

She took the two eggs home and baked a cake.

DON'T MESS WITH SENIORS!!!

WE'VE been around the block more than once!…

Forty years ago I was a fairly decent bicycle racer. Early one spring I went to a local training ride. Now anybody is allowed to join these rides, so it was my practice to go extremely hard for the first mile or two, just to get rid of the less skilled riders, because allowing them to hang around was dangerous.

This particular day I did my usual fast start, leaving everybody strung out behind me. After a couple of minutes I slowed down to let whoever was left in the group catch their breath. But then I changed my mind and decided to go hard again, but this time nobody tried to keep up, they just let me go. So when I got to about 200 meters ahead I slowed down to see if anybody was going to come out and join me, but nobody did. But then a few miles later I look back to see a girl chasing me. All of those supposedly fast guys back there and the only one to come out to chase me is a girl. o_O

Normally upon seeing that I would just pick up the pace and say bye-bye, but this time I thought 'I gotta see this'. Sure enuf she kept coming and to my amazement she caught me. Then of all the chutzpah, she came around and took a pull, and I thought dang girl, that's impressive. Then she fell back to the pack again, and eventually some guy came out to join me, but what that girl did was impressive.

After the ride was over we all gathered in the parking lot to chat before heading home, and the girl was there. Of course I didn't say anything to her because I'm a very shy guy. A few weeks after that I had to head out west to get my season started and I didn't get back to town until June. At which time I went for a ride with some of my buddies, and we talked about what'd been happening while I was gone, and how everybody's season was going. After a while we were ready to split up and head home when one of them asked me, 'Hey, do you remember that girl?', I smiled and said yup! Then he said, 'her boyfriend broke up with her... she committed suicide.' Those words hit me like a ton of bricks, and I've never been able to get it out of my mind that I should've said something to her. I should've told her how impressed I was. I'll never know if it would've made any difference, but I should've said something.

From that day on I vowed that if anybody ever does anything worth commending, I'm gonna say something. I don't care if it's the cashier at the store being able to count change correctly, or some guy in a call center in India patiently assisting me with a complaint, although he probably doesn't understand me any better than I understand him. If it impresses me, I'm telling 'em.

I figured that this was a story worth telling because it's better to learn this lesson here, than the way I did.

@Apple Sky

Are you limiting the stories in this thread to true stories? Or are short, meaningful, but fictitious stories also allowed?

Preferably true stories, but half truth ones also :)

Failure can well turn into opportunity.

My late brothers daughter was happy with her life until her boyfriend broke up with her,

resulting in her deciding to move far away, Australia.

Unknown to her at the same time her boyfriend had the same thoughts.

And then, wonder of wonders they "bumped" into eachother and are now I believe married.

PS, "bumped into eachother" in Sydney Australia.

I notice your happy face, which I think means you are talking tongue in cheek. So here is one of my favorite stories, which is probably historical, but I don't think it really matters if it's not. It the lesson it teaches that is important to me:

One day, Reb Zusha, a humble and saintly Hasidic master, was on his deathbed. His students gathered around him and were surprised to see him crying. They asked, “Reb Zusha, why are you crying? You have lived a righteous life. You were as wise as Moses and as kind as Abraham. Surely your place in the World to Come is secure.”

But Reb Zusha replied, “When I stand before the heavenly court, they will not ask me, ‘Zusha, why were you not like Moses?’ or ‘Why were you not like Abraham?’ They will ask me, ‘Zusha, why were you not Zusha?’ And I will have no answer."

I once owned two black cats called Poppy & Pip, we had to move house & the house we moved to was next to a very busy road, sadly Poppy & Pip got knocked over & so I buried them in the Garden.
The next day I arrived home too find Pip sitting upon his grave, as you can imagine I was in shock, I thought he'd come back to life
After a while I realized what must have happened, Pip must have some how tried to find his way back to to the old house & didn't quite make it so he came back home, I found out that the black cat we had buried belonged to the farm further down the road.
You can imagine my delight.

In the end I took Pip back to the old place where we used to live & luckily enough a kind neighbor took Pip in & looked after him where he found love peace until his dying day.

It was heartbreaking to part with him but I had no choice but to give him up.:(

Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.
