“We’re bringing back religion in our country, and we’re bringing it back quickly and strongly because for America to be a great nation, we must always be one nation under GOD,” the president said during his remarks.
The president paid homage to the sacred Judeo-Christian values that formed a solid foundation for America’s founding, praising the importance of prayer in America and vowing to protect religious liberty while in the White House.

God be praised.

Yeah, who needs that pesky old First Amendment anyway. Trump now decides which parts of the Constitution can be followed, and which are just ignored when they are inconvenient.

-- A2SG, only pay attention to the parts of the Constitution that specifically mention God, I guess....

At last! I now understand what a word from my childhood means: antidisestablishmentarianism. Now, how to casually work it into the conversation - fortunately or not, this is part of the conversation nowadays.

antidisestablishmentarianism:
noun: A political philosophy opposed to the separation of a religious group (church) and a government (state), especially the belief held by those in 19th-century England opposed to separating the Anglican church from the civil government or to refer to separation of church and state.

With a Christian Nationalist to run it. I guess we know now which religions will have freedom in thiis country and which won't. But it's been a long time coming--as far back as 1988 when Pat Robertson was running for President one of the planks in his platform was that the Bill of Rights (including the 1st Amendment) was intended to apply to "Bible-believing" Christians only.
God be praised.
Now the government can assure that only the right one is praised.

How disgusting. Christians should be disgusted too. We all know this is for show and that the convicted felon in the White House shares exactly zero "Judeo-Christian" values with any Christian denomination.

He's using Christianity as a prop and a useful tool to shore up his support and power.

God be praised.

I really wish Christians would put away these cliched one-liners. Maybe if they get used enough, we can convince the world that Christian culture is completely devoid of any critical thought. (As if the worlds needs to be convinced any more than they already have been.)

Yes, it is disheartening. But also a sign of the times in which we live.

The Gospels warn us of the "abomination of desolation" standing in the holy place. This is when religion is perverted to serve the desire for empire.

I remember that. It was a repudiation of the fundamental Christian concept of the relationship between a man and Jesus - at least for himself.

Doesn't matter. The Christians who support him have repudiated it, too. All that matters is that Trump continue to advance their political agenda.

I think many maga Christians still believe it for themselves.

But I dont see how they can accept the Christianity of a man who publicly says hes essentially a man free of sin. Perhaps Trump since then has wised up about how to make the proper Christian noises?

More likely maga Christians see Trump as a useful path to power. Maybe this dangerous game will work?

Did Trump wait to text any mistresses until after he left the garden, or did he do it right on the scene?

With or without Stormy Daniels?
, praising the importance of prayer in America and vowing to protect religious liberty while in the White House.
For all religions, or just some (or one)?

While he was a believer before the assassination attempt as he has said he is more of a believer now.
A believer in what, himself? I’ve seen no evidence of him being a changed man since then. I think he’s actually worse now.
