  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Need for community. Mob desecrates body, makes threats. Imprisoned for a powerful purpose.

Recent Fellowship Highlights Need for Christian Community

[7] prayers in [2] nations have been posted for Christian workers.
A local pastor encouraged a group of Christian workers with God's Word at a recent fellowship gathering.
When a group of Christian leaders gathered for fellowship, they realized its necessity and importance. The gathering was facilitated by a local pastor, one of only two full-time pastors in the region, and composed of 13 lay leaders. Front-line workers reported that the gathering highlighted the need for more opportunities to fellowship with other Christian workers in this region of Kenya, which is dominated by Islam. "The gratitude of the teachers ... after the fellowship evidenced how they critically needed such fellowships and encouragements regularly," a front-line worker said. Read More.

    Mob Desecrates Body, Threatens Christians

[6] prayers in [2] nations have been posted for Christians in Mauritania.
Though conversion can carry a death sentence, nearly all Mauritanian Christians are former Muslims.
Christians in the town of Selibaby fear for their safety after threats made on social media resulted in a mob attack and desecration of a grave. The social media posts called local Christians infidels and apostates and urged action against them. On April 7, an angry mob entered a cemetery where a Christian man had recently been buried, destroyed his tombstone and exhumed his body. They then dragged his body through the streets to a village over 10 miles away to rebury it. Read More.

    Imprisoned for a Powerful Purpose

[8] prayers in [2] nations have been posted for Pastor Gul.
The families of imprisoned Christians in India often endure social and financial pressure as their loved ones are in jail.
Pastor Gul was arrested and sentenced to six years in prison for the activity of his Christian faith. His elderly parents, brother and sisters continue to gather for worship with other Christians in their small, rented home, although the constant judgment and scrutiny from the community have created an atmosphere of anxiety and distress for them. They expressed both deep pain and joy that Gul "had been chosen by God to bear his name and bring hope and the gospel to inmates." In a recent visit, Gul reminded his father of the story of Joseph.
