What I find kind of sad (Ok, sad, not kind of) was that the other parish is literally only a mile away from the one I went to and was packed like sardines and while there was a decent crowd at my parish, it was not packedIt started at 8:30 PM and was done at 11:00 PM. Not particularly cram packed. We had three baptisms and seven other confirmations. Fairly good. I've heard many other places with more. I'm wondering if Aslan is on the move.
There does seem to be a bias toward the other parish, and yet I feel kind of sorry for the one I went to, because they do a great job in their Holy Week and Easter Masses anyway. There is a "cult of personality" thing about the other parish's priest, and that must be what is going on here. I can't lie, I still have it in my system too - he is charming and has a nice voice and beautiful homilies and it's hard to steer away from it. I do have to remind myself, though, that I need to be tolerant of other priests because if I get too hung up on a priest, my mind gets screwed up.
