  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Not surprising. Call for Democrats to tone down the violent rhetoric and this is what the leaders do.
She's calling for people to "violently" sell their Tesla stock :car:

The representative, who sits on the House Department of Government Efficiency Subcommittee, made her comments to the Tesla Takedown movement. That group describes itself as a “peaceful protest movement” encouraging investors to dump stock in Musk’s electric vehicle producer.

Such inexcusable violence!!

Ha ha ha! Oh come on. From your own article...

“The things that we’re fighting for—we are fighting for our country, we are fighting for democracy, we’re fighting for our freedom—and when I say fighting, I am saying that figuratively,” she said. “Obviously everything that I am promoting is nonviolent and so definitely don’t want anyone to take that word literal in any way.”

Yeah - I don't know how you live in a country with such vile violent rhetoric!

Projecting much?

If American's had not elected Trump (and I will never understand why they did!) - how long before he was in jail for treason for inciting this little thing called an INSURRECTION against the Capitol? Anyone care about the cops that actually died?

What about the Jan 06 people Trump called Patriots - as he pardoned them - and what were they guilty of again?:doh::doh:

Please - unlike your accusations - your man HAS incited violence resulted in death - and then HAS pardoned them because - regardless of the horrendous nature of their violent crimes and insurrection against the USA government - they were on his side. So like a kid in the playground - he picks them to go free.

Do you know how many psychiatrists have watched thousands of hours of Trump videos and diagnosed him with Malignant Narcissism? That he enjoys the pain and suffering of others - especially anyone perceived to be a threat.

Jimmie Kimmel too--they supposedly don't mean it. They have been asked to tone done the rhetoric and urge peace and this is what we get. Swatting and Molotov cocktails are not a joke. There have been death threats against Musk. Please people don't wait until people die before speaking out.

Please - play the violin for the world's richest man who's also best buddies with the Prez.
Can't they spruik for some security?

In the meantime - I love your bleeding heart concern for justice for the cops on the Capitol on Jan 06. You're OKAY with Trump pardoning these guys?

Ryan Nichols pleaded guilty to pepper spraying police officers and urging rioters through a bullhorn to storm the building. "This is not a peaceful protest," he yelled, according to prosecutors. "If you have a weapon, you need to get your weapon!" Later that night, Nichols recorded a video of himself calling for a second American Revolution and stating, "if you want to know where Ryan Nichols stands, Ryan Nichols stands for violence." Nichols was sentenced to more than five years in prison.
Christopher Quaglin was convicted at trial of "viciously assaulting police officers for hours," according to federal prosecutors. "On at least a dozen occasions, Quaglin stood face-to-face with officers as he screamed at, pushed with outstretched arms, punched, swatted, and slapped officers; pushed bike racks into officers; and even choked one officer to the ground," prosecutors stated. Quaglin was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Daniel Rodriguez pleaded guilty to using a stun gun and "plunging it" multiple times into a police officer Michael Fanone's neck, in the words of prosecutors, leading Fanone to scream out in pain. "During those moments, I remember thinking that there was a very good chance that I would be torn apart or be shot to death with my own weapon," Fanone testified to Congress. Rodriguez was sentenced to more than 12 years in prison.
Peter Schwartz was convicted of stealing pepper spray from police officers, distributing the canisters to other rioters and "indiscriminately" spraying law enforcement, according to prosecutors. Court documents from the Justice Department described him as a "a welder by trade and a felon who has racked up numerous convictions for drugs, weapons, and violence over the last three decades." The day after the riot, he allegedly posted on Facebook, "What happened yesterday was the opening of a war. I was there and whether people will acknowledge it or not we are now at war." Schwartz was sentenced to more than 14 years in prison.

Please stay on topic. Threatening the life of Musk and firebombing Teslas with Molotov cocktails is not justifiable. It's doesn't matter what you or anyone else thinks Musk or the guy he works for has done.

I agree! Threatening the life of anyone is not justifiable.
Burning private or public property is not justifiable.
So I agree with you!

But I've already established - by quoting YOUR OWN ARTICLE - that SHE DID NOT!

And I've already established that Trump pardoned the PEOPLE THAT DID!
Oh - and behaved treasonously as well.

Any comment on how you justify this inconsistency?

You're condemning Jasmine for doing something she didn't do - and ignoring Trump who incited and then pardoned people who DID those things! Who injured cops.

Also, how many cops died again? I'm not saying Trump pardoned THOSE individuals - but pardoning 1500 of these rioters? Really?

Pardoning Oath Keepers and Proud Boys?
Also - why do the alt-right extremists in America have such odd names?
One sounds like a church youth group - and the other a float in the Mardi Gras?

What did she say that was in any way violent?
"Taken down." In context, Musk has already had death threats against him,Molotov cocktails are being used to firebomb Teslas, supporters of Musk have been swatted, and the Democrats have been asked to tone down the rhetoric.
