A bracing 1 degree Fahrenheit when I took the trash receptacle to the street at 6 a.m.
It's negative 12 degrees Fahrenheit now.

Pr. Al is 83 and struggling with memory issues. He's got a retirement date set in just a couple of months. He still has his moments though. Yesterday the epistle reading was from Philippians and he noted that it is somewhat unusual for Paul's corpus in that he is not writing to criticize or correct anything in particular. That was a fresh and worthwhile insight for me and I was blessed to hear it.

God bless him!

I took my children to the Maundy Thursday service and Pr. Al was struggling a bit with the memory problems. I think he got totally lost about 10 minutes into his sermon and just decided, I'll stop here. But he broke out in song, an 83 year old man, voice cracking but singing from the heart and an old hymn that's been embedded on that heart for 6+ decades. And then he said Amen and went to set the table for the eucharist.

That sounds quite interesting. Was it an Anglican or Lutheran service?
