I thought it was a good meeting and an opportunity for the people to see President Trump and J.D. in action. As with all wars, negotiating is extremely difficult and it often takes time. Try to imagine Biden and Kamala debating with Zelensky.

Zelenskyy is not seeing things right. I think he's probably coming down with a sickness, and wasn't thinking properly.

I wonder if the Europeans, with their nonsense hatred of Trump are mostly responsible for spoiling this deal... I don't know what kind of influence they have on Zelenskyy, but going around describing Trump as someone sympathetic to Russian aggression may have just proven not only dangerous, but deadly for the Ukrainian people.

The rhetoric needs to stop. Please take feet out of your mouths!

So after all that, nothing was even discussed privately.

It was all for show. All for ego. Trump doesn't care about peace at all, he's just being childish because he wasn't begged by an ally in their hour of need.

I'd have voted for him, but I think it's being morally consistent to call out the bad as well as celebrating the good.

There was no peace deal. There was a mineral rights deal that was due to be signed after their private meeting that Trump cancelled.

Each of them are negotiating on the behalf of and for the benefit of their own country. Time for both to give; Trump could be magnanimous and give up more than he would like. A path to NATO and security guarantees would probably put them both on the same page.
While I approve of most of what Trump has been attempting to accomplish I completely despise his fawning over Putin and Russia. I predict that will not end well for him.
