Here is an excellent article that digs into the Paul discussion with Timothy in 1 Timothy. If the forbidding of women to teach and have authority is a Universal Law or is a Local circumstance Paul is addressing.
The author demonstrates in Detail that it is Local and is addressing temple Prostitution.
1. From not copying their dress styles of the Priests of Diana, in the braiding of hair and the use of Gold and Silver in adornment.
2. Demonstrating the the Cult of Artimes/Diana said "men were the origin of Sin", in direct contradiction to God's word.
3. Condemning childbirth
4. the Cult promoted agressively the idea of Female self willed authority.
All things directly address by Paul in the text. It is absolutely clear that after reading this article that Paul is addressing a local situation and applying his theology to that set of circumstances. It is not a to be a Universal command and those who advocate for that view are without merit or standing. Further more those who oppose do so in completely without any knowledge of the subject.
