  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

@JosephZ, i find your profile picture to be very interesting... Jesus's hands are above the cross, as opposed to being nailed into it.
It's an image of the risen Christ. It's hard to tell from the profile picture, but in the full size picture you can see the marks from the nails on His hands.

@JosephZ, I did an image search, and I wasn't able to find any matches on that picture... Where did you find that, and where is it from?
It's a picture I took of the mosaic located inside the Santa Isabel Cathedral in Isabela City, Basilan. The mosaic was designed in Italy and imported to the Philippines.

...Do you believe that Jesus suffered and died on the cross Joseph? Do you believe that he was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day? Do you believe in the Holy Trinity? Father, Son and Holy Spirit?
My statement of faith can be found in the about section on my profile page.

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) was founded by and is currently led by a Jordanian Christian, Nayif Hawatmeh. The DFLP's militant wing, the National Resistance Brigades, participated in the October 7th terrorist attack on Israel.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) was founded by George Habash, a Christian, and is one of the most radical and militant Palestinian factions.

Chris Bandak, a Christian, was a former leader of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades. He was arrested at the Church of the Nativity after he killed at least two Israelis and seriously wounded a third in 2002. He received four life sentences. Hamas fought for his release as part of a prisoner exchange, and he was released in 2011. The Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades also participated in the October 7th terrorist attack.

“Jews are the children of Satan. (John 8:44) — —- the Lord Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.” -- Robert Bowers, before carrying out a terrorist attack that killed 11 people at a synagogue in Pittsburgh, PA

On April 27, 2019, John Earnest, a Christian terrorist
who said he was inspired by Jesus Christ, the Apostle Paul, and Martin Luther fired shots inside the Chabad of Poway synagogue in Poway, California killing one and injuring three others. Earnest wrote a seven-page letter before the shooting outlining his motives. Below are some excerpts from that letter.

Just because someone calls themselves a Christian does not make them one... Beyond the scope of time the Father and the Son made a covenant in eternity—that the Son would bring a people to Him that He may be glorified through them. I did not choose to be a Christian. The Father chose me. The Son saved me. And the Spirit keeps me... ...[They] take one quote from the Bible and grossly twist its meaning to serve their own evil purposes—meanwhile ignoring the encompassing history and context of the entire Bible and the wisdom it takes to apply God’s law in a broken world... A child can understand the concept of self-defense. It is unlawful and cowardly to stand on the sidelines as the European people are genocided around you... The Jew has forced our hand, and our response is completely justified. My God does not take kindly to the destruction of His creation... My God understands why I did what I did.

“When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it. Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children”
(Matthew 27:24-25).

“I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham […] Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not” (John 8:37-45).

“For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews: Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins away: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost” (1 Thessalonians 2:14-16).

“I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan” (Revelation 2:9).

“Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee” (Revelation 3:9).

There is no love without hatred. You cannot love God if you do not hate Satan. You cannot love righteousness if you do not also hate sin.

To my brothers in Christ of all races. Be strong... remember that you are secure in Christ.

I did not choose to be a Christian. The Father chose me. The Son saved me. And the Spirit keeps me... My God does not take kindly to the destruction of His creation. Especially one of the most beautiful, intelligent, and innovative races that He has created. Least of all at the hands of one of the most ugly, sinful, deceitful, cursed, and corrupt. My God understands why I did what I did.

“I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty,
(but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan” (Revelation 2:9).

“Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee” (Revelation 3:9).

Between 1970 and 2006, 90% of terrorist incidents worldwide were carried out by non-Muslims.

View attachment 361074

Between 1970 and 2000, only 3.5% of the terrorist attacks worldwide were carried out by Islamist terrorists. That tells us that conflict and instability in the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan, and Pakistan are the root causes of the increase in Islamic terrorism since 2000, not the religion of Islam itself.

Prior to the US invasion of Iraq, the Tamil Tigers, a predominantly Hindu terrorist group in Sri Lanka, were once the world leader in suicide attacks.

Sri Lanka's Tamil Tiger rebels didn't invent the suicide bomb, but they pioneered it as a tactic in war. For three decades, the rebels fought for an independent homeland with hundreds of suicide attacks, more than al-Qaida or any other group. All told, more than 70,000 people died in the fighting.

They're not a group that most of the listeners will have heard too much about because even though they're actually the world leader in suicide terrorism from 1980 to 2003, carrying out more suicide attacks than Hamas or Islamic Jihad, they're not attacking us and they're not attacking our allies.

They are not religious. They're not Islamic. They're a Hindu group. They're a Marxist group. They're actually anti-religious. They are building the concept of martyrdom around a secular idea of individuals essentially altruistically sacrificing for the good of the local community.

The Lord's Resistance Army in Africa, which according the United Nations, was responsible for more than 100,000 deaths, the abduction of between 60,000 to 100,000 children, and the displacement of as many as 2.5 million civilians between 1987 and 2012 was just as viscous as ISIS. The LRA claimed it was fighting for the establishment of the rule of the Ten Commandments in a theocratic Uganda. Their activities covered a large swath of Africa committing atrocities in not only Uganda, but also South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Central African Republic.

"The LRA is fighting in the name of God. God is the one helping us in the bush. That’s why we created this name, Lord’s Resistance Army. And people always ask us, are we fighting for the Biblical Ten Commandments of God. That is true because the Ten Commandments of God is the constitution that God has given to the people of the world. All people. If you go to the constitution, nobody will accept people who steal, nobody could accept to go and take somebody’s wife, nobody could accept to innocently kill, or whatever. The Ten Commandments carries all this.” -- Vincent Otti, LRA Commander

In the Philippines the majority of terrorist incidents are carried out by the New People's Army, a Communist terror group, which has a significant amount of support from the Christian population and many of it's leaders are Christians.

The New People's Army— the armed unit of the Communist Party of the Philippines—was responsible for most of the casualities, or 35-percent of the total deaths, followed by the Abu Sayyaf group responsible for 18-percent of the deaths and the Maute group, responsible for 8 percent of deaths ascribed to terrorism.

Nuns and priests working with the communists divide church... ''They begin to see God as a historical process, Christ as a liberator and faith becomes commitment to the Communist Party. ''It used to be the church said killing could only be justified in self-defense,'' the priest said. ''But in our case, where there is what we call structural injustice, we believe you don't have to wait for the other person to kill you first before you kill them.''

The NPA/Communist ideology is a form of Christian Communism like what is found in Latin America where terrorism is also widespread. This is why you see many of it's members who also belong to the Church. In fact, many in leadership positions of these Communist Christian terrorist groups are Priests, pastors, and other church leaders.

Baptist churches have been found to fund and support much of the terrorism taking place in Northeast India.

The NLFT manifesto says that they want to expand the kingdom of God and Christ in Tripura. They have been accused of funding terrorism and forcing local tribals to convert to Christianity at gunpoint.

The government in India's north-eastern state of Tripura says it has evidence that the state's Baptist Church is involved in backing separatist rebels.

At least 20 Hindus in Tripura have been killed by the NLFT in two years for resisting forced conversion to Christianity. A leader of the Jamatia tribe, Rampada Jamatia, said that armed NLFT militants were forcibly converting tribal villagers to Christianity, which he said was a serious threat to Hinduism. It is believed that as many as 5,000 tribal villagers were forcibly converted from 1999 to 2001. These forcible conversions to Christianity, sometimes including the use of "rape as a means of intimidation,"

The NSCN

View attachment 361072

Equally disturbing is the NSCN faction’s dubious claim of being the torch bearers of Christ’s gospel. Isak Chishi Swu the NSCN-IM chairman has on records said that Nagalim will send out 10,000 missionaries around the world when it achieves independence. “Our intention is that Nagalim is for Christ. We have proclaimed it. Nagalim is for Christ. God has got his plan for Nagalim,” he said. “We were evangelized by the American Baptist missionaries back in 1839, and we don’t have the adequate words to thank the American missionaries.”

There have been reports from North east region that the Naga insurgents have used threats and intimidation in areas where they operate all the name of Lord Jesus Christ...

And there are also the Anti-Balaka Militias in the Central African republic that resort to terrorism.

After the Muslims were baptised into the Apostolic Church in a ceremony attended by the village headman, they “had to show the anti-balaka [their] baptismal cards to not be killed,”

“We had no choice but to join the Catholic Church,” the oldest brother told Amnesty International. “The anti-balaka swore they’d kill us if we didn’t.” Another brother said that the family members have to attend church services every Sunday. “We have to confirm that we’re really Catholic,” he explained.

“The anti-balaka told us to go to church,” recalled Abdoulaye A. “‘If you don’t want to, we’ll kill you,’ they told us.”

“If you refuse to be baptised you have to pay a fine,” said Hassan I., age 61, who lived in Balego until recently

“It is effectively illegal for us to pray,” said Abdou Y., in Mbaiki. “We have to hide, do it quickly, and do it by ourselves. Collective Friday prayers are impossible.”

Besides massacres, sectarian killings, and wholesale ethnic cleansing, one of the clearest signs of the intensity of sectarian animus was the destruction of the country’s mosques. In town after town, village after village, mosques were looted, vandalized, damaged or destroyed in early 2014, at the same time that the Muslim population was driven out. Some have estimated that more than 400 mosques were destroyed.

There were fewer than 8,500 deaths related to terrorism in 2023 and many of those deaths were the result of non-Islamic terror attacks.

Your source, Religionofpeace, is a garbage anti-Islamic site that often posts misleading, deceptive, and in many cases false information. It shouldn't be used as a source for legitimate information on terrorism or Islam.

There were over 1500 attacks by a non-Islamic terrorist group in the Philippines between 2010 and 2020.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has justified the designation of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) as a terrorist organization, citing 1,506 incidents from 2010 to 2020 involving attacks on civilians and military personnel. Brig. Gen. Joel Alejandro Nacnac reported that the CPP-NPA recruited and utilized 544 child soldiers, with some killed, wounded, or abused. The group also carried out 532 attacks on civilian properties, with 2017 recording the highest number. Moreover, the CPP-NPA was responsible for 141 incidents involving anti-personnel mines, causing 224 casualties. "Willful killings" attributed to the group resulted in 373 deaths, with most incidents occurring in 2019. The CPP-NPA is designated as a terrorist organization by multiple countries, including the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the Philippines.

The above is an example of just one non-Islamic terror group. There are hundreds of others and they have been responsible for thousands of terrorist attacks since 2001.

Terrorism extends across all religions and ideologies.
You attach the word "Christian" to murderers and terrorist "False" God hasn't sealed such and added these barbarians to his Church on earth

@JosephZ, i find your profile picture to be very interesting... Jesus's hands are above the cross, as opposed to being nailed into it.

...There are some people who don't believe Jesus was actually crucified. Some believe he survived it, and others believe he was raised up from the cross, and never actually died... It's the Muslims who claim these things.

...Do you believe that Jesus suffered and died on the cross Joseph? Do you believe that he was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day? Do you believe in the Holy Trinity? Father, Son and Holy Spirit?
Wow.
As non-Christian I understand that I am a guest here and mostly try to stay out of squabbles between Christians of differing views regarding their shared faith, (and certainly have been entertained by the same), but…wow

@Pommer You are incredibly kind and I like you a lot. You are definitely one of my favorite people here.

Theologically....if I understand correctly, Muslims believe the "real Jesus (they call him ISA)" didn't die but escaped the cross and crucifixion and he will come again at the end of the world.

Of course, Jesus (in Christian circles as a whole) died on the cross, was resurrected, ascended into heaven, and will come again to the judge the living and the dead at the end of the world.

Believe it or not, some Muslims hold Jesus in a very high regard. He's a political "messiah" but not divine (God).

It's entirely normal that the OP decides what the topic is in their thread. And I don’t want to report anyone. I would rather explain the topic for discussion, and ask everyone to simply follow it.

...If that doesn't work, and people dismiss the OP's request, then at least you tried.

I literally linked the source confirming the entire death toll. No exaggeration about the number of deaths. Now you are complaining that the database of Islamic terrorism is too detailed.
That source cites a human rights NGO. There are no official sources or local media reports of that many people being killed during the same period. I was able to find a local media source that cites the same number from the NGO, but it also states that security forces in the area only report 14 deaths with several people still missing.

Security sources report a toll of 9 civilians killed in their fields with knives.

For about four days, ADF rebels have intensified attacks against civilians, mostly farmers and returnees in the southern part of Irumu territory...

Security sources report a toll of 9 civilians killed in their fields with knives.

This toll could increase, warns civil society, which explains that several people are missing. Four other bodies of civilians killed by the same ADF were found the day before in the village of Kazaroho west of Bwana-Sura.

The NGO CRDH indicates that more than 100 civilians have already lost their lives since the beginning of this week in this area.

I searched and couldn't find any additional reports of massacres taking place during the first week of February in the the DRC. Out of the six claims I listed from religionofpeace website, only one could be verified to a certain extent.

2025.02.04 DRC Beni Muslim terrorists set fire to homes and murder ten residents.

From the same article above:

"The most recent incursion took place on Tuesday, February 4 in the southern part of the Irumu territory. These rebels killed 10 people, burned houses and looted property in this area where military operations are nevertheless underway, specifies the same source [the human rights NGO]"

I also provided several examples from the Philippines that were common acts of violence that religionofpeace counted as terrorist attacks. If religionofpeace is reporting false claims of terrorist attacks in that country, then you can be certain that many of the reports they have on their website from other countries are also false.

The religionofpeace website is not a reliable source for reports on acts of terrorism. In addition to reporting false information as I have shown, the number of terrorist attacks they report along with the number of fatalities is greatly inflated and does not align with the more comprehensive terrorism databases available that are compiled by terrorism experts and specialists in the field of terrorism who rigorously investigate and research violent incidents and acts of terror around the world.
