  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Mt 19:

23a Jesus said to his disciples, 28b “Truly, I say to you, in the new world, when the Son of Man will sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Did Jesus include Judas Iscariot here?

Yes, but unfortunately, he betrayed Jesus later.

Later in Acts 1:

15 In those days Peter stood up among the brothers (the company of persons was in all about 120).
They needed to find a replacement for Judas from among the 120 disciples.

26 They cast lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
Matthias replaced Judas Iscariot.

Did Jesus say that Judas Iscariot would have a throne in heaven?

Only if he continued in the faith. That was the unspoken assumption. While Jesus' statement in Matthew 19:28 included the twelve disciples, it did not guarantee Judas a place in heaven.
