The United Arab Emirates and Israel agreed that the Gulf emirate would take over the management of the Gaza Strip after the war, according to a report by Israel Hayom.

The question of who will govern and rebuild the devastated enclave has once again received much attention in the wake of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

On Wednesday, Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office denied reports that Israel had agreed for the Palestinian Authority (PA) to run the Rafah border crossing.

They. Attacked. Israel. They killed women, children, and babies, and took innocent men, women, and babies hostage.

If they hadn't started it they would not need it to be rebuilt. Hamas holds the blame, and the people that enabled them should be held to rebuild it.

I say, UAE should open a GoFundMe page and invite last summer's protesters in Paris, London, NYC, LA, and Sydney to donate for rebuilding efforts. The protesters who were chanting “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” appear to be concerned about the people in Gaza. They could potentially raise significant funds for rebuilding efforts. Perhaps Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib could serve as the chair of the committee overseeing this initiative.

I know I donated to help the innocent starved, bombed, murdered, homeless people of Gaza.
Not for political reasons. Because i truly believe all humankind are a family.
I don't believe in us and them, white American Chtistians and an underclass undeserving of our compassion.

I really don't know what Jesus would do. I have grappled with understanding the Israeli-Palestinian relationship throughout my adult life.

Many Israeli policies toward Palestinians are unconscionable and far from Biblical principles. As a Christian, I have found it difficult to unconditionally support Israel like many American evangelicals do. However, the children of Abraham are God's chosen people, and God repeatedly punished the Jewish people for their sins but embraced and loved them when they turned back to God.

In Romans 9-11, Paul wrestles with the fate of Abraham's descendants.

Romans 11:2-6 “ Don’t you know what Scripture says in the passage about Elijah—how he appealed to God against Israel: 3 “Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me”[a]? 4 And what was God’s answer to him? “I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”[b] 5 So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. 6 And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.

Romans 11:13-21 “ I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I take pride in my ministry 14 in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them. 15 For if their rejection brought reconciliation to the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? 16 If the part of the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; if the root is holy, so are the branches.

As Christians, we should be cautious in our support to Israel unconditional when biblical principles are in question, and also careful in our criticism.

I respect your answer. I look at Israel's behavior as a kind of mass PTSD for what they suffered in the Holocaust.
But Jesus gave us the "Our Father," commanding us to forgive.
The Catholic Church preaches just war theory. Nations have a right to defend themselves while protecting civilian life.
Netanyahu has violated that principle 33,970,000 times (Gaza citizenry uninvolved with Hamas.) There is no way to justify it.

I believe much of this comes down to the collective will of the Palestinians as to whether it allows Israel to even exist. Individuals within their society must also be recognized as being complicated with various dispositions. Their leadership groups are worthless but they probably also suppress people who want to coexist.

Bibi Netanyahu is often criticized for his leadership style and perceived arrogance.

There is complexity in distinguishing Hamas from the general population of Gaza. Hamas was elected as the governing body of Gaza with 47% of the vote by Palestinian citizens. Thus, it is challenging to separate Hamas from the regular citizens of Gaza.

Hamas launched an attack on Israel, anticipating that the retaliatory response would be limited due to the potential loss of innocent lives and the international community's likely intolerance for such devastation caused by the IDF. The world responded in a way that Hamas had anticipated. Instead of condemning Hamas, much of the Western world criticized the IDF.

It is undeniable that the loss of 39,000 innocent Palestinian lives is a tragedy. The actions of Hamas have contributed to placing their own people in jeopardy. As the governing body of Palestine, Hamas initiated a conflict that has led to significant casualties among their citizens.

I agree that the loss of 39,000 lives in this war is unacceptable. However, we disagree on who is to blame. The responsibility lies with the governing body of Gaza, not Israel.

Nope. Israel ran an apartheid occupation against the Palestinians and violated human rights in the occupation for so many years long before Hamas attacked. The blame goes back to Israel really.

This is why many Israeli themselves are opposed to the war because they know it's unjust war.

Accountability is mainly from USA and Israel.

If Israel hadn’t been attacked in 1967 & 1973, things would be a lot different but the same complaints would still probably be made. The Palestinian authorities are corrupt, crime syndicates and slumlords.
