Release International Prayer Shields, Sudan and China

Sudan​

Pray that the 5 per cent of the Sudan population that is Christian would stay strong in the face of intimidation, arrest, imprisonment and other forms of persecution. Pray that many Sudanese Muslims would come to know Christ.

Sudan​

Sudan has experienced more than 50 years of Islamisation including the destruction of numerous churches and the imprisonment of Christians. The Government seeks to eradicate Christians and ethnically African people around its border with South Sudan. Pray for an end to this repression.

Children in China are not permitted to attend any church or profess faith in Christ. Pray that Christian families will have the resources, conviction and encouragement they need to continue to nurture their children in the faith.

Pray for Hunan street evangelist Chen Wensheng who was recently sentenced to one year and seven months in prison for ‘organising and funding illegal gatherings’. Give thanks for his commitment to sharing the gospel and pray that he would know God’s comfort and strength in prison.

Pray for Pastor Hao Zhiwei who was arrested in July 2019. She was charged with fraud for preaching the gospel without approval from the state-sanctioned church and sentenced to eight years in prison. Her case may have been the first of its kind in China.

Pastors of unregistered churches in China are increasingly being arrested on spurious charges of fraud simply for accepting payment for their work. Pray against this new oppressive and unjust tactic.
