In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm in agreement 100% and I'm not even an American. It's just how the Hollywood elites reacted before and after the results that really irks me. There is this holier than thou feel that boils my blood at times. It feels like they wanted him to fail for a self centered gratification at the expanse of the future.

And I have stated elsewhere I'm no fan of Trump either. However I believe the American people have chosen the best person who can lead them in this time of uncertainty. We the rest of the world are also hoping for the best under the new leadership. We hope he can at least start to make fixes to a downward spiraling geopolitics and economy. We all have to do so too. I don't have to like a man to pray for his vision to come to fruition.

The "Hollywood elites" opinions mean nothing. Instead of talking about politics, they should stick to acting or singing, or whatever their profession is.

My dad always said Hollywood is only liberal because Republicans were traditionally rich, and those in Hollywood feel guilty about having so much money.

For what is it worth, IMHO Hollywood is built on the idea of dreams in the literal sense of it. Hollywood dreams like their REM sleep counterpart can disappear as easily as they come. However this dream can only exist on the foundation of a solid nation that is prosperous. Prosperity that are built by people whom your dad would term it "traditionally rich"; wealth accumulate through traditional jobs and entrepreneurship. Wealth that comes hard from proper tangible outputs. Arts can only blossom when the environment is stable and rich. Unfortunately Hollywood today seems dead set to destroy the foundation that their tree rooted itself in.
