  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly recently appeared on “Real Time with Bill Maher” where she discussed various topics including her views on transgenderism, justifiably denouncing the physical mutilation of children.

Clips of her statement immediately went viral on X. Kelly, like several other conservative and “classical liberal” commentators are increasingly outspoken about the use of so-called “gender-affirming care” — puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries for minors with gender dysphoria.

Yet many of these same voices are also ardent defenders of the gay community. In 2022, following the announcement by gay “conservative” podcaster Dave Rubin that he and his “husband” were expecting two children via surrogacy, Megyn Kelly responded enthusiastically on X with: “WHAT?! THIS IS AMAZING NEWS!!! So happy for you!!!” Kelly says she is Catholic, but even the progressive-leaning Pope Francis has explicitly condemned both surrogacy and in-vitro fertilization (IVF). The Eastern Orthodox Church and the Southern Baptist Convention are also against IVF. In both the surrogacy and IVF process, multiple human embryos are created and implanted; with the remaining destroyed.

Megyn's comment is probably "love the sinner, hate the sin." As Jesus did.
I am surprised by the number of friends I have who have gay children. I have several friends with transgender grandchildren, one of whom was a fraternal twin (girl-girl.)
They love and support their family members, and our conservative friends have never said a judgmental word--to their credit.

IMO, a lot of the hubbub is because a lot of Christians don't want to admit that American culture is, like every social culture before it, downright evil. When an evil culture embraces evil, it is no surprise. But telling an evil culture that it is evil will only fall on deaf ears and get us accused of being hateful bigots. It is only by being recklessly loved by someone who keeps their own garments clean that conviction will come. And then the question is whether the person will respond with hatred for having their evil brought into the light, or with pleas for forgiveness and a pursuit of restoration.

People say denouncing sin is judgemental etc, that they need 'support', problem the gospel is incompatible with that. People are called to repent of their sins, and is important to call sin evil, and not something good. If people knew the danger they are in, and that God exists, and like Paul says he is going to appoint a day to judge the world, and that He is good, unlike bad propaganda a lot of people say, and if they knew him a bit, that the Holy spirit is the most beautiful person in the universe, and we can have a relationship with him, but no the world is under darkness.

So in other words you prefer worldly relationships to the truth of your own religious teaching. Friendship with others matters more than adhering to God's standards.

"Despite zero scientific evidence, Lady Gaga convinced the world that gays were just 'Born that Way.' Within 10 years, the greatest PSYOP in American history was a success — support for same-sex marriage grew from 26 to 64%."

The shift on the "nature vs. nurture" question has always been the most shocking to me. Many who consider themselves conservative today uncritically accept that people are "born that way." It's the perfect example of repeating a lie often enough that people believe it.

You can love someone without approving of their disordered lifestyle. Encouraging someone to live a life of sin isn’t loving.

Ugh. Children deserve a mother and a father, two men will never replace a mother.

That’s awful news.

Amen.

I have a brother who is deep in that lifestyle, I’ve seen how much it has harmed him.

Over 300,000 gay men dead from AIDS in the United States alone and they still scream love is love.

SMH

Lust is not love.

I am sure they are not "encouraging." But neither are they letting it destroy theirrelationship. They are accepting what they cannot change and loving them anyway.

What I notice is only certain types of sin are given the "love and support the sinner like Jesus did" routine.

Someone saying “WHAT?! THIS IS AMAZING NEWS!!! So happy for you!!!” wouldn't go over very well to a confession of murder, or theft, or adultery (presumably) or a number of other sinful deeds and behaviors.

So far...

But they are children of God.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Amen.

I agree 100%.

BUT Telling that to persist in unrepentant mortal sin is not being merciful.
