In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

(TOMORROW! Sunday October 27th!)

Former President Trump is gearing up for a blowout rally in Madison Square Garden Sunday as the Republican nominee makes his “closing argument” to local voters in the 2024 presidential election.

Doors open at noon, with programming expected to begin at 2:30 pm. Trump is not expected to take the stage before 5 p.m. Guests will include Elon Musk, Dana White, Tucker Carlson and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

With Trump having already survived two assassination attempts, road closures and tight security are expected in and around the World’s Most Famous Arena, which has a capacity of nearly 20,000.

While Trump has made gains with demographic groups across the board, most insiders continue to believe the possibility of an Empire State upset is remote.

“Throughout the campaign cycle, President Trump has used unique backdrops to deliver his winning message to voters — whether it’s a visit with union workers in New York City, a stop at a Harlem Bodega, or a rally in the Bronx.

“To deliver his closing argument, President Trump will pack Madison Square Garden and, once again, highlight the issues facing our nation,” a Trump campaign insider said.

Trump MSG rally street closures, guest list, schedule, more

NEW YORK - Former President Donald Trump will host a rally at Madison Square Garden (MSG) on Sunday, just days before Election Day, that is expected to draw thousands to the NYC area.

Big names like Tesla CEO Elon Musk and UFC CEO Dana White are also expected to be in town for the event.

New Yorkers can expect heavy police presence and increased security around the area.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams and police officials warned that while protests may happen, there will be "zero tolerance" for crime or disorderly behavior.

Adams emphasized the need to "lower the temperature" amid the criticism surrounding Trump's upcoming rally at MSG.

Doors for the Sunday, Oct. 27 event open at 12 p.m.

The rally will begin at 5 p.m.

MSG has a seating capacity of 19,500, making it one of the largest indoor arenas in the U.S.

Even NYC Mayor Adams Is Tired Of Harris Calling Trump A 'Fascist'

Mayor Adams defended Donald Trump Saturday, slamming claims from Democrats that the Republican nominee is a “fascist” who could be compared to Adolf Hitler.

“I have had those comments hurled at me by some political leaders in the city; my answer is ‘No,’ ” said an embattled Adams, when asked about the criticism of Trump.

“I know what Hitler has done, and I know what a fascist regime looks like. I think, as I have called for over and over again, that the level of conversation, I think we can all dial down the temperature,” added Adams, a moderate Dem currently facing federal corruption charges.

Adams made the remarks while speaking at a Manhattan news conference outlining what he called “large police presence” being planned for Trump’s Sunday rally at Madison Square Garden.

Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris and President Biden began hammering Trump this week after claims emerged that the former commander-in-chief had praised Hitler while in the Oval Office.

The allegation surfaced in The Atlantic and was later confirmed by retired Marine Corps Gen. John Kelly, Trump’s one time White House chief of staff.

However, Adams said he "strongly disagree" with anyone saying the rally should be scrapped.

"This is America. This is New York, and I think it's important that we allow individuals to exercise their right to get their message clear to New Yorkers," he said. "And our job as a city and as a Police Department is to make sure they can do that in a peaceful, in a peaceful way."

The place is packed!
Looks like alot of New Yorkers were interested in hearing what Trump had to say!

I watched the rally. Thought it was very good. Exciting, and yet very orderly.
Was nice to see Melania there; she hasn't been appearing at the rallies.
But the big surprise for me was the appearance of Dr. Phil!
(He was a 'natural' behind that rally microphone!)

Yes, really. He was there. He was one of the speakers they called up, when they were individually calling them up. Dr. Phil spent quite abit of time speaking about freedom of speech, 'bullying', and about not being bullied into going silent. It was good. Powerful.

When the rally ended, I heard that Newt Gingrich also spoke. I didn't see him, but then I missed about the first 15 minutes of the program; maybe that's when he spoke. I always enjoy hearing from Newt. Imo, a very wise man.

Update: Can't find evidence that Newt spoke at the event, but yes, he and Callista did attend!
