  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The U.S. bishops issued a statementpraising the Biden administration’s decision last week to expand the U.S. refugee resettlement program and commended the role of Catholic organizations in partnering with the government to resettle refugees.

President Joe Biden signed the Presidential Determination on Refugee Admissions for Fiscal Year 2025 on Sept. 30, setting the refugee admissions target at 125,000. This comes after the administration has made several changes and expansions to the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) and resettled over 100,000 refugees into the U.S. in 2023, the highest number since 1994.

A “refugee” is defined under U.S. law as a person who is “unable or unwilling” to return to his or her country because of “persecution or a well-founded fear of persecution on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion.”

Let me expand a bit.
He is evidently Muslim, but does not say it. He came in under Obama. I asked about if there's a problem over there by saying 'there was a problem in North Africa' and he said no.

Him and another woman [and another] all from Algeria, talk to family and send money.

OTOH the folks who came here who live near Russia [one came from Crimera when Putin took over under Obama] say their family is concerned because Putin loves weak democrats because he gains more area.
Is communism the fall of mankind? Does Russia spread their errors?
Indeed democrats are weak.

So although Bishops are calling for our charity, people coming from all over are not necessarily refugees.

I checked and Haiti is not at war.
So why are we bringing them in?

The problem with Haitians is they are Catholic in name but their culture allows voodoo.

There are no refugees.
They are immigrants who are by passing our system to conform to our language and laws.

However; democrats like to say refugee... but if the whole world is a mess right now, they need the Lord and not leave their countries just to send money out of our country.

As I work with mainly 90% 'immigrants' I am not finding any who were desperately leaving.
Except maybe the lady from Crimera.
So democrats are lying to the Church.

Just change the name to refugee.
