  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I think Star Trek: TNG actually started in the late 80's, from what I remember.

I just luv time travel movies, do you remember that Star Trek movie where they go back in time to 1986 ? It was absolutely bril, best one ever.

Well of course, remembered it all wrong. 87 in fact. I guess I was thinking about the better seasons and I always equate that with the 90s. Then again measure of a man, my favorite episode, might have been on the 80s side.

Yes. I think it was Star Trek IV: the Voyage Home ?

It's a film I appreciate more as I've gotten older. The romantic interest subplot made it distinctive from the rest of the films.

Star Trek IV: the Voyage Home ?
It's my favorite, along with The Motion Picture. Very different films, both equally fantastic to me. The Voyage Home pulls off that certain level of playfulness that can be hard to nail in Star Trek without sacrificing something in the process.

Those were two of my favorite Star Trek films.

The Wrath of Khan seems to be more popular with many fans, however. I would rank it somewhere up there with them, but I actually don't think the plot itself is as faithful to Gene Rodenberry's vision.

V came to mind right away. Also...Age of the Tripods, if I got the name right. Good stuff, good stuff brother. 90's can claim Star Trek TNG, so it gets pretty close.

Ahhh "V" - I remember that show. And the other one you're after was just called "Tripods"
