This week, pray for churches in Lanzhou and the work of the gospel. Pray that believers in Lanzhou will know the love of Christ in their lives and will increasingly fall more in love with him, being an example of the gospel to the city around them.
Ever since the new religious regulations in 2018, churches in Lanzhou have been banned, or forced to meet less publicly or exclusively online. Pray for grace and peace for churches feeling this strain, that the gospel might flourish in their midst.
A Lanzhou pastor shares that their church is made up of many sisters whose husbands are not believers. "So the foundation of these families in the church is actually unstable. It is not a case of families serving the Lord together, but rather individual sisters coming to Christ." Pray for good marriage ministry in churches like this, for the church to minister to these wives and for their husbands to come to know Christ.
One Lanzhou pastor asks for prayer "that the Gospel will truly restore trust in the church in Lanzhou. Because of the special circumstances of the past and the division caused by the 'Local Church' movement , the churches here are struggling to truly reunite. So we really pray that the Lord would unite the church in the Gospel so that we can work together to advance His Kingdom."
