Taylor Swift Endorses Kamala Harris For President, References 'Childless Cat Ladies'

"I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos," the singer wrote in an Instagram post featuring her with one of her cats.

Pop music sensation Taylor Swift, widely considered one of the world’s most influential celebrities, endorsed Kamala Harris for president after Tuesday night’s debate.

“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election,” Swift said in an Instagram post featuring her with one of her cats. She signed her lengthy post as “Childless Cat Lady” ― a biting reference to GOP vice presidential nominee JD Vance’s now widely mocked remarks disparaging Democratic women who don’t have children.

Swift, once known for her aversion to speaking out about politics, praised Harris as someone who “fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”

“I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,” her post continued.

She has 275 million followers on Instagram.

That's a message for the Swifties. There's a lot of anti-patriarchy rhetoric at her events. Trump's tax policy is more favorable for the wealthy and she'll probably vote for him. But she's a puppet for the democrats and republicans have them too. They're best ignored.

Loads of wealthy people are donating to the D campaign.

Presumably they arent giving money and support just to turn around and cast their own sole vote the other way. Even rich people have other things on their mind besides money sometimes.

Older generations understood something modern ones don't. They're seduced by proximity and the notion of sameness. Donating to a charity in an area you're performing generates positive PR which results in more streams, ticket sales, and merchandise purchases (yours and those you represent).

Biden sat down with Cardi B. Do you honestly think he's listening to her music? Celebrities push the narrative but it's difficult for some to accept the depth of their unimportance and how they've used the things they like against them.

I watch the debate for one reason alone. To see what they'd say. I didn't expect you'd get anything substantial. That isn't the plan. All I needed to confirm was the fat lady's presence.

If you understand how musicians earn a living (under contract) and how ticket prices work my comment is understandable. The price isn't fixed and there was a lot of press about that during her tour. At any rate I explained it above.

Creatively speaking, she doesn't have a lot of wiggle room. They own her name and catalog. She can't distribute her music. But if I design a dress that's my intellectual property. I'm not under contract and can hire someone to make it and sell it online. I set the price and bypass the retailer. I can do on demand production so I'm not stuck with overstock and only make enough to heighten demand.

The difference between the two of us is financial but not in the manner you might expect. How you enter determines the rest. You can be dirt poor and become an entertainer but ownership is restricted. Think about the NBA and you'll get it. They all have shoe deals but no one owns a company.

But when you fund it yourself you play by different rules. Because you're not in the system. That's why incubators exist. It's a foot in the door. If you keep them out you'll fare better in the long run. Knowing how is part of the challenge. As long they're feeding you you're under their thumb.

No, I just thought it was funny that the other poster would note that rich people donate to Dems, as if he still believes the old fallacy that Reps are the party of the rich, and Dems are the party of the working man.
