  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does God still love me after Ive sinned/before ive asked for forgiveness?

God is love, and loves you.

Sin is opaque in nature and covers up our hearts and the part of us that can perceive that "God is there"

Confession helps to dissolve the effects of sin.

Or is there a period where God no longer loves me? Im just curious.
God's love is God's character and will never change. But there is a difference in semantics between God's love for you out of His character and His love for you with respect to being pleased with you!

God doesn't love you when you rebel against Him or do harm to other people. But His character remains loving. But to ask whether He changes His mind about saving you when you do wrong, that wouldn't be true. He sent His Son to die for you before any of us even sinned. He had us in mind for Salvation before we were born, knowing many of us would do awful things.

If we want to please God, we should continue to live in His Salvation, and also do things that please Him, such as serve Him and do good to others.

God loves you always, as stated in John 3:16. :) I struggle with my own sins also. God loves you 70x7 times over, well, actually infinitely over compared to the love shown by humans.

It's impossible for God not to love. He loves the most heinous and corrupt of sinners--the most vile person you can imagine? God loves them too.

It is out of that love that He sent Christ, to rescue and redeem the wicked, the wretched, the lost, the sinner--you and me.

It is never a question of whether God loves you--He has loved you from before the universe came to be.

Feelings are a terrible indicator. Because they are our feelings, and we are broken and sinful.

The only reliable standard to know the mind and heart of God is what He has said and done. That is why we must look to the Scriptures, look to Christ and His death and resurrection, and hear and believe the Gospel.

Feelings come and go.

God is still there.

God never stops loving you. God is love. When you repent, you are simply accepting His infinite love, but He was waiting for you all the time!

I once became convinced God was angry with me, but He quickly made it apparent that it was not the case.

And God is unchanging - we are promised in Scripture that Christ is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow!
