  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Former President Donald Trump vowed, if elected come November, to rehire military service members who were let go for rejecting the COVID-19 vaccination and promised they would receive an apology with back pay.

"Kamala [Harris] and Crooked Joe purged 8,000 service members from our military for refusing their COVID vaccine mandate. They refused to do it," Trump said at an Asheboro, North Carolina, rally on Wednesday.

He added, "We didn't want a mandate. The mandate — you just can't do that."

"I will rehire every patriot that was fired with an apology and back pay. They will get their back pay and an apology from our government," he declared as the crowd loudly applauded.

The Republican presidential nominee said he hopes the former military service members now have "great jobs" while "making a lot of money" but hopes they want to come back.

"The mandate stuff should have never happened," he said to the rallygoers.

As of October 2023, only 43 of the fired 8,000 service members have rejoined the military following the repeal of the vaccine mandate.

Several groups, including First Liberty Institute and New Civil Liberties Alliance, have sued over the federal vaccine mandates and unconstitutional COVID-19 executive action.

While speaking during the rally, Trump also criticized the Biden-Harris administration's handling of the military and its morale.

A decision like that should be made by military leadership, not an inexperienced former commander-in-chief who only visited the troops in the middle east for one 15-minute visit in four years.

Didn’t Biden push the military on this instead of letting military leadership decide. Hint: policies were developed to respect those who didn’t for whatever reason want to be vaccinated and then they were reversed from the very top down. Here’s where you can say that the unvaccinated have no rights at all and they got what they deserved.

If any of those brave, healthy men and women actually want to return to U.S. military service?
I say, "Welcome back!"
Most will have productive jobs elsewhere and will not be available to go back. Especially if they got those productive jobs without having to suffer often unjust mandates from a no longer trustworthy government.

Not that it matters too much but if one bases trips to a region as important here are the ones documented. Trump made 4 trips to the Middle East. Iraq, Israel, Saudia Arabia and the West bank. At least one visit to Israel lasted two days. Trump Comes to Israel Citing a Palestinian Deal as Crucial (Published 2017)

In other words you want a President who is powerless as commander in chief. Except I guess when he's a Democrat. Doesn't matter that it's stupid to get rid of people who refused Covid 19 vaccines and that the US military is already having trouble with it's numbers either I guess. It's like you can't think objectively about these things or what is in the best interest of your Empire.

Visiting a country is different from spending one's Thanksgiving on a base serving turkey to deployed soldiers in Solidarity--as almost every other president has done.

Trump called a Coast Guard ship docked off Florida.

This still invalidates the notion of civilian leadership of the Military. If you want the Military to be self contained and not have the input of the President then you are for getting rid of the Idea of a President in the first place. Except we both know that you only have this standard if the President isn't a Democrat.

^_^ ... but I am less skeptical than you!

I do think Trump will try to 'make right' this situation, should he win the election.
I highly doubt he remembered he made said promise 15 minutes after leaving the stage, much less should he find himself the winner.

My friends daughter refused the vaccine during military duty about 3 yrs ago and was fired, it's gonna be a big paycheck!
