  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

"Radical!" The same thing they say about every D during campaign time..... to the point that it really doesn't mean anything.

Theyre just trying to set up a vibe. Like what the D's are doing with "weird!" .....except the current pair of Rs maybe are just a little weird.

Regardless of the adjective, Dems don’t know much about her views.

She was never Border Czar, so that alone indicates the entire list is worth dismissing.
She was given the border to manage that is where that comes from.

On the other hand, when Republicans are asked about many liberal ideas-- expanding the minimum wage, for example, they want the idea but don't realize their candidates fight against it.
In our state, minimum wage was raised by referendum with 2/3 approval.
Same people voted in the eat dirt candidates.
When it passed they spent a year taking away every category from minimum wage protection and trying to eliminate referendums.

BTW, every category on that list was slanted, misleading, and biased.

She also never supported abolishing ICE.

Trump said Harris "supported abolishing ICE."

It’s clear that Harris opposed, and opposes, many of Trump’s immigration positions. And she called for an end to the hard-line tactics that had been used by the administration.

But she never said she would abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In fact, she said the opposite.

We rate Trump’s statement False.

The reason so many people don't know these things about VP Harris is because many of the statements made about her in the poll are not true.

and then you have people who realize that raising the minimum wage raises prices if you have minimum skills and work minimum wage do not expect to live the same way as people who have climbed the ladder. Note I did not say climbing the ladder was quick or easy.

She was given the border to manage that is where that comes from.
Harris was never put in charge of the border or immigration policy. Nor was she involved in overseeing law-enforcement efforts or guiding the federal response to the crisis. Her mandate was much narrower: to focus on examining and improving the underlying conditions in the Northern Triangle of Central America—El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras—which has been racked by decades of poverty, war, chronic violence, and political instability. The strategy relied on allocating billions for economic programs and stimulating private-sector investment in the region in hopes that these programs would ultimately lead fewer migrants to make the dangerous journey north.

The vice president was never in charge of the border. That job belongs to Alejandro Mayorkas, the secretary of homeland security, and to Xavier Becerra, the secretary of health and human services.

Still she was charged with some sort of border task.

Still she was charged with some sort of border task.
Her assignment was to build diplomatic ties with Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras and to oversee investment and implementation of foreign aid to these countries to address infrastructure, grow business, and strengthen civil society.

Theresa Cardinal Brown, senior adviser on immigration and border policy at the Bipartisan Policy Center, said that early in the Biden administration, Harris was assigned the task of reducing migration to the U.S. southern border and collaborating with Central American nations to address the root causes of migration through diplomacy, development and investment.

“She was never named a border czar. In fact,
the border was not her priority issue at all. The border was the responsibility of Homeland Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

You don't get ahead, or climb a ladder by working minimum wage you fall behind.
