  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I prayed for Trump, even if I may not like the guy, we must pray for all those who get hurt for healing both physically and mentally.

1 Timothy 2:1 and Matthew 5:44 talk about how prayers should be said for everyone, including those who we may not like.

Amen, brother. I went to confession today to tell the priest that I have been quick to judge folks on either side of the aisle (as a centrist), and can be quick to judge others in general. It felt good to lay that on someone, especially a priest. Continue praying for people who we may not agree with, our enemies, and for ourselves, so that we may not judge others.


Confession of sins (whether directly to Jesus, to a pastor/priest or to a friend is key), as shown below by these two verses.

1 John 1:8-9 (NIV): "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

James 5:16 (NIV): "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective."

I pray also for those killed and injured today in the line of fire, for their family and loved ones as well that they find the comfort they need and healing also.

I pray for the unfortunate souls who share the same name as the shooter.

I pray for the healing of our nation, that we can come together in this crisis as Americans and neighbors, and not as partisan hacks.

Today can be a good thing, if we react in the right way. God tells us that all things work together for our good... Let's find the good now and go forward in that good with strength knowing God has our back so long as we remain steadfast in His perfect Will.

Lord protect Donald Trump from being shot, poisoned, attacked by drones, missiles, bombs, space lasers , microwaves, plane crashes, bio weapons, viruses, secret weapons or other means of attack.

I am not a fan of any politician. But I have prayed for Trump and his family, the man who was killed while trying to protect his family, and others
traumatized by the attempted assassination.

I prayed for the truth to come out about what happened. As there are people really wondering why the police and the Secret Service didn’t prevent a very visible man and his rifle from being on that roof.

I know there are a lot of Christians who support Trump and pray for him. I would certainly suspect that their prayers are the reason why Trump escaped death by millimeters.

I'm 70 and survived a VERY long open heart surgery about a year and a half ago. (almost 12 hours of surgery). I know how I feel about this life and I think Trump has given us some view into his perspective on life. i.e. I think he is fine and even more "combative" than ever. I know I would be. When you are his age and have accomplished all he has accomplished, he really has "nothing to lose" and probably has a lot that he hopes to accomplish until the Lord calls him home. And that makes him somewhat fearless. It certainly made that change in me, and I've accomplished nowhere near what he has.

Lord God I lift up Donald Trump to You right now and for his swift and complete recovery of any injuries from the assassination attempt, I also pray for healing for the people that were injured and also that You would comfort the family and friends of the man that was killed! I pray for Donald Trump and his family's salvation and good health and for Your will to be done in Trump's legal situation! Thank You God!
