Sounds like these billionaires are compensating for something when building these towers. Why build in the desert of all places? I'd rather build in the grasslands of the Midwest. Much cheaper compared to Saudi. Not a fan of the Trump Organization.

Perhaps this deal is a sort of “thank you” to Mister Trump, since it might appear that he has had a moderating influence in the absolute-monarchy, (per the Saudi Arabia Wikipedia page):

In April 2020, Saudi Supreme Court issued a directive to eliminate the punishment of flogging from the Saudi court system, replaced by imprisonment or fines.

Despite it being the desert, the millionaire per acre ratio is better there than in Milwaukee. If you're "Targeting the luxury Saudi Arabian market and international investors", then Kenosha, Appleton, Waukesha and Oshkosh B'gosh are just not going to cut it.

Trump clientele is separate from the Trump voting pool.

Wow, that is a strange thing, how a desert nation has more millionaires, but we could probably attribute that to Big Oil over in Saudi Arabia.

I am curious which people are going to move into this tower, if built. Most voters certainly can not afford luxury apartments.

Hmm, we will have to see what happens over the next few years, if this tower is built. It is getting late here, but this tower just seems like another one of Trump's schemes somehow.

Luckily for us, God saw fit to place an ocean of oil under a country whose Leaders were wise enough to provide for the peaceful transportation of their ”wares” for a century. Making “enough” of their people wealthy that they’d be able to continue to rule, long after they’ve depleted their stocks!

It’ll probably be mostly offices, even shell corporations need a mailing address.

I fail to see what has that got to do with the voters? If you're implying Trump is doing business with an "authoritarian" nation which preaching "America first" as hypocritical then the same can be said about the whole of America including Biden.

You guys funnel money and prop up the Saudis for their oil and regional influence regardless of which party the president is from. All the posturing about the Saudis you guys never really cut them off from your orbit of power. If morality was really an issue for any administration, America would have stopped doing business with them long ago. You guys didn't.

The thing is you guys can't or rather I should say WON'T. You guys can point over the table at each other however your country will never go all the way through to manifest your moral stance. As sure as the sun will rise.

I went over to the costal city of Jeddah and had a look around. There's a lot of high end real-estate there. Several luxury hotels/resorts. There are Trump Towers all over the world. This is the one I'm familiar with.

That is true. There are towers, fortresses of billionaires all around the world, including the Trump Towers. I do not like Saudi Arabia that much, cos that country has Shariah law.

Saudi Arabia doesn't have voters.

There are so many.

It's because the rich of Arabia are the Saudi family.
There are so many 21st century dystopias, I can not list them, but I can give you a rough estimate: ~195

But yes, the Saudi family has inbred so many times, it is not even funny anymore. If this is one thing that can convince Western folks to get off of Saudi Oil, it is the fact that Saudi Arabia is run by a dynasty of rulers. Why should the US give money to a country where incest runs rampant? We should switch to renewables, and stick it to the Saudis.

If you call all of them dystopias, you lessen the impact of the word.

I have no idea about their mating habits of the House of Saud, but those with power (and using it to accrue wealth) in KSA are descended from this guy:

I see your point. It is a scale. :)
[Dystopia -------- Neutral -------- Utopia]
[N. Korea -------- Arabia -------- Denmark]

Dang, Saud bin Muhammad Al Muqrin lived a long time for a guy born in the mid-17th century. He made it to his mid-80s. Also, it looks like Saud's family went back to the 1720s up through today.

Ahead of Trump's inauguration, Trump Organization expands its global business

It's unclear if Trump will eschew foreign business deals as he promised in 2016.
1734103247324.png

Trump's son Eric Trump, an executive vice president with the Trump Organization, on Wednesday formally announced that the family's real estate company is partnering with the Saudi Arabian real estate firm Dar Al Arkan to launch a Trump Tower in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. [i.e. the deal in OP, unless there's a second one]

Earlier this week, the Trump Organization announced that it had leased its name for two projects in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, increasing the company's role in a part of the world critical to United States' foreign policy.

"We're doing projects in Jeddah, we're doing projects in Oman, we're doing projects in Riyadh, we're doing projects all over the region," Eric Trump said this week at a cryptocurrency conference in the United Arab Emirates.

Americans are tired of worrying if their leaders personal interests might be completely conflicted with the country's.

Especially now. Its like we want to lavish trophies on the winner - at the expense of national interest, if thats what it takes.
