(Unless the Dems have decided to totally abandon him and let him falter in front of the whole world.)

So I'm expecting to see the 'hyper' version of the president at this debate ...
and will be very surprised, if we don't.

Either way, I wouldn't think of missing this event.

I think this debate could prove to be very frustrating for him.
- It is difficult to communicate with Biden.
- The debate environment is being very controlled.
- I foresee Trump getting his mic turned off alot by the CNN moderators.

All those things could prove to be quite frustrating.
imo, Trump doesn't come across well, when frustrated. (Just not a good look.)
I hope my concerns are all wrong, and that Trump will be well prepared for a very challenging evening.

Some kind of 'uppers' ... medications that appear to give you 'energy'.
(I'm not into drugs, so I don't know what their names might be.)

But we saw it even with my little 90+ year old MIL.
The doc would sometimes increase her prednisone for her arthritis.
Her mood was noticeably altered by the increase.
She became happy, energetic, more active ... just on alittle more prednisone.

I wouldn't be opposed at all, to a mandatory drug test for both candidates b4 the debate.

I support both being tested right before they walk out - also verification the is no auditory device in their ears. Following the debate a cognitive test on both.

In a debate, the participants are not to supposed to communicate with each other. Rather, their answer should be directed to the moderator.
A debate should be controlled.
And yes, if it's not your turn to talk and you talk anyway, then one should expect to have the mike turned off.

I am all for any older person to do a job. Still, Americans learned with FDR not to give too many terms. With Biden or even Trump, they may very well support an amendment to have an upper limit on age for the President. There should be consequences too if we learn that there is a cover up on his abilities to perform as President. Competency is not optional, and those that knowingly refuse to invoke the 25th amendment if they have evidence are equal to traitors. I am not saying Biden is incompetent but if he is there is a duty and obligation for others to act. Morally, the family should act as well if they know. That there are some serious politics involved should not matter, but of course they are. Some people will stop at nothing to insure power, we learned the excesses of Trump's supporters at the capital, and I fear we may learn the excesses of democratic supporters if they withhold important information about Biden.

So yes, this debate is going to be historic. Trump too could make miscues, but normally he can go into any topic with at least some general points. If he is off topic, few supporters will care. If Biden gets many names and places wrong, has long pauses, or is yelling then I think it is over as the original post suggests.

I'm not even sure what to pray. That both would have a good debate? That character and health flaws should be shown if needed? I guess God's will be done is warranted here.

I think Acosta is right. The election may well hinge on this. I'll be watching it propping up a bar somewhere in Toronto. It'll be interesting to see how the locals react.

I see it's actually scheduled to occur one week from now on June 27th.
Apparently there will be no drug testing which is disappointing.
If Trump plays it cool like he did with Hillary, he might stand a chance.
With the two minute reply times with rests in between, Biden might have a chance to keep up.
The way the rules are set up it could just turn out a dead heat with each side claiming victory.

Except that Biden will use his time on facts and issues.
